I think this would be pretty handy, at the moment holding it down is a bit of a pain on my mouse and it uses up buttons Id rather use for other things.

I agree. A simple implementation would be to just make firing the weapon toggle it on and off. People could just put it in its own fire group. No extra key bindings needed then.

Yeah I agree, that way I won't need my roll of pennies by my keyboard anymore

you should not need to use a macro for this - in fact you should not need to use a macro for any function of a game.

im going around all threads bumping this topic, tag needs a toggle!!!

yeh holding down a button that could of been assign to some other group is dumb. all i want todo is press number 6 and be done with it.

I agree 100%. It might encourage more players to carry tag.

I used a macro for my tag, which was assigned to its own weapon group, #5. Then I tried to team chat. Know what I said ?
