Honestly Do People Just Dislike Playing So Much?

Do these people just not like playing a giant stompy mech game, where you shoot other giant stompy mechs? If so why do they waste the time of us that actually like playing a giant stompy mech game, and SHOOTING other giant stompy mechs.
There really needs to be a way to limit the speed on which people can cap: do like WOT and have it to where there is a cap on how many mechs actually count toward the cap rate at one time, that way you have at least some chance of making it back in that kind of situation.

So if an ECM covered group goes along the right of the map and an ECM covered group goes along the left (using the caustic map as example here) they will generally just circle, and if you end up at the enemy base, why not cap?

I just can't fathom how it's any fun.
I know that once Conquest mode is here I'm never, ever touching assault again.

Simple change yet you have another game mode AND cater to those who don't want to play the base capturing games.

Because standing in a red square is boring?
When we do this we leave one guy at the square to force people to return and the rust of us hunt them down and slaughter everything.
Or die trying, either way, this way we get to play the game all of us signed up to play.
Namely mechs blasting eachother to pieces.

Oh to be sure, if the enemy is already soundly defeated on the field of battle that's fine, but the entire team bumrushing the red square without even trying to engage [indeed, trying to AVOID an engagement] is lame and boring and makes me feel like i've just wasted my time.

I PUG exclusively and most of the time the team wants to win (regardless of the method) so if I leave and I cause the team to lose, am I a team player or not? You need to think from all prespectives, not just your own.
My suggestion of another game mode is not out of the question.

I would rather take a loss than go camp the red square.
I do this regularly. Camping the base is something you do to grief people.

Although it is quite boring and I would rather fight all the time to be honest.

I fail to see how evading detection and using electronic warfare to your advantage isn't playing the game compared to just rushing head on into an enemy force.
Still, this mode definitely has a lot of work to be done to make it a viable and interesting alternative to the proposed Community Warfare.

No, really. If your entire team goes somewhere where the enemy isn't (and you yourselves aren't trying to base rush), you didn't scout. It's not like these maps are big enough that you can miss them nor does there seem to be a lack of light mechs, at least when PUGing.
