I would like to be able to re-name my mech once I've found a particular build I like.

Agree, editing the name/designation of a mech after the initial purchase would be useful.

I could imagine it would become necessary. Imagine if some one walked away from the keyboard thinking of a name for their mech and their little brother ran up and typed in some obscene name. With no way to rename it. I could also imagine the cat walking across the keyboard for instance. And I am sure there are more scenarios. There needs to be a rename option.

But what about showing the name of your mech in-game as well ?

rename and also sort mechbay or move stuff around so I can organize it.
