What I have in mind is you hit H once for enhanced thermals, and then once again for full thermals. One more push reverts to normal vision.
When in enhanced thermal mode, anything over a certain temperature (i.e. battlemech temperature) would show up with a slight glow on the HUD. It would get tricked by things like fires of course, just like regular thermals.
I think it would help snipers and long-range support builds the most, allowing them to see if they have a clean shot and what parts they can hit. Scouts could also get good use from it, so that mechs stand out a bit more, but they can still see the terrain for better maneuvering.
Thoughts? Do you like the general idea? Would you use something like this? Am I a super genius or just a regular genius?
