2013 Dodge Challenger SRT gets delivered on that date?

No, but after a Google Search that's a fine lookin machine!

I'm actually getting to visit Valve Headquarters :) I get to meet the people I admire who make some of the most memorable games I have ever played. What's funny about it, too, is that I'm more starstruck to meet these people that I would ever have been to meet pop culture icons.

Barrack Obama? Meh, get back to work.
Jon Stewart. You're a funny man. Have a nice day.
Gabe Newell? (most people are like 'who?') I'm like  :P :P

:) I've never been so eager. Though I'll be very happy meeting anyone and everyone, there actually is a chance that Gabe might not be there. And what's meeting Valve without meeting the big man himself. The head honcho. El Jefe.

It's going to be nothing less than depressing when I fly back home, but I'll make the best of my time there.

There are THREE (3) MechWarrior games due out this year, all in different flavors:
  • MechWarrior Online: MMORPSimulator, set in 3049 at launch
  • MechWarrior Tactics: Asymetrical Turn Based Strategy Game (similar to the original TableTop game), set in 3025
  • MechWarrior Tactical Command: RTS (similar to MechCommander), set during the Clan Invasion of 3050. Also only for the iOS (iPad, iPod/iPhone) {also hasn't been updated in a long while... could be dead?}
So with these three games, I figure they've got all their bases covered. BattleTech in almost every way you could want.

Nope. They're missing a BattleTech/MechWarrior RPG, preferably one with a good toolkit so that people can take and run with it, in the way that Neverwinter Nights 1 did. I want fan-made BattleTech persistent worlds, damnit!

I'm very excited for both MWO and MWT. Honestly I imagine I'll end up playing both a lot. It's a good year to be a BattleTech fan.

Edit: After re-reading my email from MWT, I think the beta isn't coming as soon as people think.

We are pleased to announce that MechWarrior® Tactics™ will be entering ‘Friends and Family’ on May 22nd!

To those committed fans who have been patiently waiting for news, we will be sending a CLOSED BETA KEY to those members registered on the existing temporary forums. With the release of the upcoming CLOSED BETA 1 we will be updating the MechWarrior® Tactics™ website.

Notice that they say "Friends and Family" beta is starting May 22nd, and that if you register on the forums you will get access to "Closed Beta 1"

In other words, we still have some time to wait. : /

Imagine the rush to that Forum, the burst of sign-ups and then the overwhelming let down come 6 days on.

Is it Illiteracy or just gullibility that leads to such things? LOL! :)

I see your point, but what is the sense of combining their F&F Beta announcement with a Closed Beta key announcement and not differentiating better? They're really not related. If they are simply announcing F&F then why even mention the closed beta keys?

As usual, game devs are poor communicators :)

Wow, I thought Aegis would be happier to hear that he gets to play a MechWarrior Beta after all...

Better tell IGP he's ungrateful... I'm sure Khyron will serve as a fine material witness.

I never had intention to compare MWO to MWT...
Sure the one game needs more time to develop than the other one, even noobs can imagine that, but both games have my attention.
I heared of both at same time and as it seems MWT will have playable Beta earlier than MWO, that´s all and the cause why it made the run...

MW:TC is not dead that I am aware of, they are just being like most DEV teams and staying silent until they are closer to finishing I am guessing.

Shutuppayourmouf! ;)

Actually, I gotta give PGI/IGP props. Instantly, and just with MWO, they have become my #2 fave developer (and that's no small feat in throwing out the devs who were my #2, 3, 4, etc.) I would have loved if I could have afforded to visit their office and get a tour at PGI as well. But the sheer thought of what I would do if I came face to face with Paul..... There's a very good chance the world might end.

Besides, if I'm banned, I'm banned. There's no point in crying over spilled Kool-Aid™.

First of all; From the email...

"We are pleased to announce that MechWarrior: Tactics will be entering 'Friends and Family' on May 22nd".

Guess what? MWO is ALREADY IN Friends and Family beta mode.

Second. It's like those multi-class races that Europeans are so fond of; you see an R1 class supercar racing around the track lapping A Class or even B Class production cars. Same thing applies here; The games are apples to oranges. Sure they are on the same track but they aren't competing in the same class.

Sorry Grimm, but what is your problem?
Seems you have no patience to read whole announcements...
You should quote the whole sentence posted in MWT Forum, not only the passage you need.
And what about Europeans? Tell me more... I need to know!

Fact is here:
We all look forward both games!
For gods sake MWO and MWT are different type of games!

I'm going to assume a language barrier here and that you aren't being confrontational.

I read the whole announcement. Being that English is my primary language I made my post based upon the information contained within the announcement.

They are announcing that Friends and Family Beta (not Closed Beta 1) starts May 22nd.
They are announcing that if you sign up on the forums you can receive a Closed Beta Key (not a Friends and Family Key)
They are announcing that with the release of the upcoming Closed Beta 1 phase they will update the website

Friends and Family Beta has already started here at MWO thus they win that race.
Neither side has announced the release date for their Closed Beta 1 phases.
PGI Hasn't even released whether they will have a Closed Beta phase or just go to Open Beta so it's a moot point.

And what about Europeans? Tell me more... I need to know!

Europeans are typically much more relaxed than we North Americans. Some of them make amazing beer and they tend to have more nude beaches per capita than in North America being that they aren't hung up on social stigma like we are. They also pay far too much for gas/petrol.

Yeah, well, at least PGI has the decency to secretly and underhandedly announce the start of their Friends and Family Beta while simultaneously denying their actions and erasing their tracks instead of just openly telling everyone like a bunch of plain-Jane game developers.

There's a race?!? Since when are these two games competing with each other? Is this one of those things internet people do, create conflict where there is none?

Mmmh, now i know what u mean!
But for me, personally, Family and Friends has nothing to do with the race.
The race will be won by the game I and all the others, belonging to Middle-and still waiting-Class will be allowed or invited to play first.
So there still is a chance for MWO and MWT to get this Cup.

Considering that Battlemech was my gateway drug into gaming (nearly 20 years ago!) I am practically high with the excitement that there are two different (and equally awesome looking) Battletech games coming out soon!

AWESOME!

I would love a RPG like that.. combine a modernized Cresent Hawks Inception/Revenge with Neverwinternights!
