I've seen several people put screenshots or pictures, whatever into their forum posts. However, I'm havng a hard time figuring out how to do that. could someone give me a bit of assistance?
I see the option for my media, but there does not appear to be any option to upload media to that.

use Fraps
you can make screenshots and gameplay movies with that. Posting a screenshots is easy, and for movies, upload to youtube and copy/paste the link in your post.

If you want to add a picture to your post, you first need to upload it somewhere, like photobucket.com or other picture file hosters.
If you did that, they will provide you with a picture link. To integrate it into the forums, you to first press the button, highlighted in picture 1

Picture 1
You copy the link, provided by your picture file hoster into the popup that now appears (picture 2).

Picture 2
You will now see some nice pictures in this forum.
It works the same, with most picture found in the world wide web, as long as you have the url of the picture available.
If you want to link to a youtube video, you need to copy the youtube link and put it into a message like this:
[media ]this.isayoutube.video/link/replacement[ /media]
(remove the empty space from the brackets to actually make it work)
