hiya i just decided to check this game out, (have played mechwarrior games b4)
one very very important question, 1. the clan, they still around? i want me a madcat, no madcat = huge hit to my liking of this game. tbh this is the only series i can think of that i have liked so much but know so little history about it, im normaly a huge lore buff even for games i dont really like or play.
sry for noobish question.

The Clan are around, yet they are not.
The in game year is 3049, the Clans are just getting set up taking over periphery systems and their first invasion wave starts in March 3050, which will be march 2013 for us. So soon enough my friend.
I suggest you look over the New persons thread here. It will answer many questions.
Welcome to the MWO forums, I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield when the game launches

The clans exist, but have not yet begun their invasion at the time this game is beginning.
MWO starts in 3049, and the real invasion doesn't get underway until 3050.
Please check out the new players start here thread for more

will we get clan mechs to pilot? Who knows. Obviously the Clans will invade within a year, but we have no real answers as to how that will be handled for Mechwarrior:Online

on a side note, to all the side notes, there are quite a few good mechs out there you can play with till the clans arrive. pls consider a ride in a catapult till madcat is available...if ever

considering the FD redesigns, I'll be more than happy to pilot any of those mechs

yep i kno there are other good mechs, i just favor the madcat, i like the vulture and a mech that has a similar profile to it tho. its just a big hit to me cuz i think the madcat looks the coolest of all the mechs and i like its versatility (and jump jet capability). cata are okay but i dont like they way they perform/specs so much.
tbh that thread is a loooooot to look thru, was simpler and faster to ask you all cuz i woulda got sidetracked and started trying to learn every single scrap of lore on the game if i did more than the cursory glance over of that thread. i really dont need to get distracted for like 3-4 hours atm lol.

As the resident "Mad Cat" (you meant Timber Wolf) fanboy of these forums; you're doing yourself a HUGE disservice by assuming the game isn't worth your time simply because that Mech is out YET.
I love the Wolf, and even then, this game is nothing less than a GODSEND. So you can play this gorgeous game now with everyone else and gain experience into its mechanics, or wait til when the Mech is released and then be upset why everyone is decimating your new Wolf with 30T solo light pilots.

why did you assume i meant it wouldnt be worth my time ? lol, i said it would be a huge hit to my likeing this game, not that it would stop me from likeing and playing it. it is just a massive negative, that doesnt mean there arent enough massive positives to counter it tho, just a bit sad is all.

Rest assured they will release the Timberwolf, there's not much choice in that matter, the question is when. I not betting on it for some time though, like two-ish years until you find one buy-able; and then the upkeep costs will kill you.

Then BUCK THE F*CK UP!

Flying Debris, the gent who does the concept art, stated in a previous interview that the Timber Wolf is actually his most feared design for this game because he feels that if he doesn't get it right, a large part of the community will be out for his blood.
I think that if the Wolf takes from the same types of design cues that the Catap design has (but with it's own unique aggressive styling), I will be VERY happy with what I see from FD. But, of course, time will tell.
It's 3049; the Wolf's been designed since 2945. He just won't make his debut 105 year later.

Mad Cat is one of the greatest exponents of clan mechs, but unfortunately the output (and the relative invasion)of the clans has not been announced to release.Like all of us, you just have to wait for future developments of this game.I'm sure there will be pleasant surprises for all.Topic closed.
