PGI,

Please let us buy the paint color and pattern for a mech and have it be permanent at the least for that variant that we purchased it for. My MC is almost gone so I will be saving it for other things, if it were permanent might rethink purchasing more. This is my personal opinion and maybe others feel the same way.

Or if you are feeling generous please let us use the paint for that specific mech type. Prices are ok if a little high, definitely in light of the fact that in order to go back you must repurchase the paint that you already bought once for that mech.

Just a thought.

Also the christmas stuff is priced a little high.

You're not alone in your thinking. Many people aren't spending MC on camo/cockpit items because of the current pricing/policies. Hopefully this gets fixed; I don't want to see the game go under because of it.

I am also holding out on the way I paint my 'mechs until they change it. I bought the PC Gamer Magazine specifically for the additional skin and was excited about the implementation of it. But now, why would you ever paint a 'mech? It's like buying something you don't really own, because it isn't reusable, reapplicable, or retainable in any way.

The PCGamer skin and colors are a perfect example of how ALL skins and colors should operate. End of discussion.

From a painting perspective (I'm a professional mini painter), PGI could, in my opinion get better sales by:

1) charge a set price for patterns - camo types, panel paint types, heraldic types. Provide ONE basic panel type pattern free. Patterns have to be bought for each mech variant, but can be used (along with the lots below) any number of times once bought.
2) charge a second smaller amount for a colour 'pot'. A pot can be used any number of times, but filled only once with a colour of the players choice. Provide two pots free, and a basic 'grey' that can always be used.

The idea of paying for each change is frankly bloody stupid. People like to tweak things too much.

As things are now I will not be paying to paint mechs, If when they change it to permanently owning colors I will paint a bunch. Right now it is like throwing away MC as you will have to rebuy the colors if you change the pattern or new colors for it.
