So in the lore, every Clan warrior has a Codex that describes their accomplishments and failures. I think it would be really cool if we all share our own "Codex" of memorable moments that we've had in MWO.

My codex:

Duels won: against Mathmatics, Lyoto Machida, and an un-named AWS-8Q pilot.

Duels lost: against Vlad Ward

Best round: 6 kills in my CTF-2X

The only extra metal that gets into my cockpit is music. No need for shiny armbands.

Keeping a little journal of your experiences is a fun idea.

Personally I haven't many notable moments, really. I guess my best moment was getting all the kills in one particular game, and doing it while taking on their final four all at the same time. But I was lucky enough to have been in my best mech at the time, and I doubt it would have gone anything like that if I was playing around in one of my many other mechs. Oh and there was one very memorable round where I played with a friend and we equally split all the kills, damage, and experience, with a nearly negligible difference between us. Seeing that almost perfect split was pretty memorable.

I've seen a few people from these forums, many of whom were quite nice, (I've also seen you, Lefty - I was the second last mech left in an Atlas and you got the kill on me in a Raven), but I have never really dueled any of them or anything like that. I've defeated and been defeated, but I don't think much of it - when you're just running around PUGing as I do, you don't know if they were playing their 'best' mech and trying their best, or just something they do for kicks.

Yeah, I only count a duel as a declared duel, not just any time I manage to kill someone 1 v 1 ;)

You mean like the time I solo dropped against the whole dev team and beat them in a glorious 15 v 1 combat, I had to take care of the planted team killer assassins before engaging the main enemy force so was more like a 7 v 1, then and 8 v 1. Normally I wouldn't note such a trivial battle however this time I was afflicted with the 4 fps bug, and yellow screen.

Should not be permanent for your stable... The current Camo is still better then the WoT one. Where anything you bought with Silver(C-bills here) only lasts for 30 days then needs to be purchased again. The MC/Gold Camos in both games last until replaced by something else... But are normally cooler options..

Here you buy a Camo pattern and you can keep it but you can also change it's colors for a cost without re-buying the Pattern . At least until you remove the pattern. Then you have to but it again..

The Camo is working exactly as I expected it to.. As I posted somewhere else about it.. Your choice is MC for stuff that you don't HAVE to have.. Or they can start charging MC for repairing Armor...

This is not to say that they shouldn;t allow us to pay extra for permanent colors and patterns.. But those should be a Lot more then teh current prices if you want them to apply to all your mechs..

Just my 6 bits <because 2 bits is just old fashion:) >

My Codex:

Duels Won: Wut?

Duels Lost: *snore*

(Nobody has yet challenged me to a duel... one guy tried but his own team shot him before he could get to me /shrug.)

Notable Achievements: Fewer teamkills than this guy next to me... and all the allegations of "Piloting While Drunk" were never proven.

Best Match: 5 kills, I think, in a Commando 2D - without streaks, and before ECM. Beyond that, 5 kills in just about anything else I frequently pilot.

Most memorable moment was back in closed beta. We dropped as an 8 man against our arch enemy's 8 man team. I was long dead and it was nearing the final minutes. They had a Commando and an Atlas, both beat up pretty badly and not a functioning weapon between them. We had a LRM d-dc Atlas, no ammo and 1 medium laser left. Our guy was defending our cap whilst the other 2 tried to ram him to death. The comments that were flying around on TS about 2 Atlai dancing, waltzing, and doing the tango were priceless. We lost on time out due to numbers, but nobody cared. It took us a full 15 minutes to get enough composure to even drop again. This game wouldn't even rate if it were a pug match, the comeraderie of my team was what made it memorable.

Choosing game engine that can't handle fast (>100kph) objects for a speedy 'mech game
Introducing anti-boating arm/torso convergence, then immediately breaking it with Swayback/Gausscat
SSRMs - fixed three times, still all hit CT

Oooh, a story time thread!

Greatest successes:
* Heroically defending our cap by single handedly destroying the AWS-9M, CTF-1X and CPLT-K2 who tip-toed through the river over to it (I mean, two of them were in trial mechs, but it still felt rad).
* Heroically defending our cap by hurling myself into the zone despite the pack of fast movers standing in it. They crippled me, but the action bought time for my team to finish the game in our favor.
* 6 kill, 2 assist games in my CTF-3D

Greatest failures:
* Got isolated by a pair of Jenners and was getting chewed up pretty bad, finally got one in my sights: BOOM! Gauss to the face! Obliterated him! ... Unfortunately, that one had been on my team, on his way to help me out ... :-(

I wouldn't call the grind evil in this game. It's fairly "cup cake grinding".

The diet coke of grinding and can barely be called such by a semi responsible, experienced gamer.

Yeah, it is a bit slow to get new mechs, but a month or so in you should have a stable full.

Compare this to unlocking iLvl 9000 items or whatever in WOW PVP queues? KILL ME NOW.

When we're both in our preferred brawlers (and not lagged to hell. I'm usually pretty good, i swear), we'll duel again.
Then, you will add my name to your list.
