So I've got an account (hence am able to post) and I can get to the online site, but I can't seem to start the actual GAME up. I have an MWO desktop icon after downloading the PATCH, but it does not start up the game, it sends me to this site. Clicking on "GAME" gets me to the game training video. Clicking on 'Battlemechs" gets me to a description of the various kinds of Battlemechs, not to the Mech lab. I don't see any way to actually, y'know ... PLAY Mechwarrior. What am I missing here? How do you actually start the game?

The big blue PLAY button in the bottom right of the launcher? If you're missing that then you need to email support.

arggg! found it. its in c:\games\piranha games

I assume this will be standardized for different OS's before final, or should I actually submit a bug report for this?



I am in the same boat. I don't have a launcher (can't find one anyway), the only think I found was an icon for HI-REZ diagnostics. The blue button on here just says 'download', I do that and the installer can only uninstall (so obviously something installed), but can't find on windows 7

You're looking for

C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MechWarriorOnline.exe

It should load up a window similar to the image below, except the button with the red box around it will say "patch."


EDIT: It should also be noted that in my first installation -- I can't get the game to work completely, but I can log in after patching and launching successfully -- I did not get a desktop shortcut to the above .exe file. I did get it in my second installation, but you can also right-click the exe in the folder and send a shortcut to the desktop for future quick access.

I was about as stumped as he was when I first downloaded it because there was no folder in Start > All Programs, nor was there a desktop icon. I doubt he's trolling.

nope not a troll, its just we've all become used to the ease of windows installs, usually goes in Program Files(x86), usually puts a desktop icon (or asks), etc...

Im sure this will be fixed for production, but you know what they say about assuming.

I also patched 1.1 successfully, played a SHORT mission, and logged out...but could not find a way to launch the game again...and I've been playing PC games for years!

right click your desktop
select new /create shortcut
paste this into the box
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MechWarriorOnline.exe
click next then click finish
all done
to launch the game click the shortcut you just created
