My brother and I were discussing this earlier and I thought I might as well throw up a post.
Jump jets in canon have always allowed directional movement other than just a straight forward parabolic arc. My thought was why not allow the directional moves a la MW2 (sideways, quick turn, backwards/forwards) but limit it.
1 JJ gives you what we have now. A simple low height parabolic track.
2 JJ gives you a slightly higher boost, and allows some lateral or panoramic shift, allowing a limited directional change in the air.
3 JJ gives you the ability to use JJ on the ground to boost straight forward, as well as the preceding benefits.
4+ JJ allows full directional movement with JJ, allowing you to whip your mech around backwards, forwards, sideways, etc.
Then you could possibly add in mutators for tonnage, etc. and of course when jets get destroyed by crits, you lose the functionality.
Have the dev's considered this at all or are we stuck with a lamer version of MW4 JJ's?

would just love them to be implemented so they used basic physics. 1 JJ gives X thrust in any direction so it will lift an atlas off the ground a 1m/s or a Jenner at 3m/s (1/3 the weight).... more JJ mor speed = more height or manuverability etc. easy.
Allow directional keys to steer and its all good
