Okay I was in closed beta for a fairly long time. Have seen the progression of OP weapons and mechs, and would like to ask everyone to chill the hell out.

When I joined the first real OP rage going on were Guass cats. I never really agreed with this setup being OP. Just that players at that time were used to being able to load weapons, and have no speed as well as just standing out in the open. Now with the new HP system as well as the explosive nature as the guass when it gets damaged has really made people reconsider builds. Example I now see many more AC20 cats rather than guass (which is a horrable build IMO which is fairly easy to kill).

UAC 5's had a run as well under the OP banner which were fixxed with jamming.

Next were LRM's. Fairly powerful, easy to use, but most of all had a nasty flight trajectory that made it very hard to hide from. They got a overall nerf over time and they are exactly where they need to be now. Remember that LRM's are support weapons.

Lights were/are in the OP dumptruck as well, these are not really OP its just that Lagshield protects them. It has just become a real issue since you have have a crappy light pilot running into every mech on the field and not falling over. When you could knock those little buggers down and kill them they were able to be dealt with. Once knockdown was taken out for repairs streaks became a big deal.

Then the awsome Streak period, I never thought streaks were OP alone. I will confess I did jump into a few Streak cat forums with some OP rage. This was countered by ECM.

The new hotness of OP rage ECM. I have yet to see the big deal with ECM, I can still hit a mech 800 meters out with my guass if I can target him or not. I always keep in contact with my team rather it be PUGing or 4man groups or 8v8. When we are keeping eyes out for flanking manuvers we win, when we dont we get flanked by ECM squad and normally lose. It seems that the biggest deal with ECM are the LRM, and Streak users. Well those freaking out over there chosen role being usless, just keep in mind the next OP item comming down the road is NARC.

So summer of this all, PGI really is taking care of things while keeping in mind items that we do not have yet. This argument has gotten a little old, but it IS STILL BETA. Meaning the game isn't finished, weapons and systems are still not in the game girls and guys. Stop having kneejerk reactions to everything just because it messes with your playstyle/build.
