Well, i won't really agree. The Awesome with only two type of weapons (3x PPC, 1x SLAS) is an easily playable mech, i think an Atlas is far more harder to handle (LRM20, SRM6, AC/20 and 4x MedLas), if you won't familiar the weapon grouping.

As noted above. The Awesome has a 90m dead zone (minus the SL) in which it cannot fight. A quick Medium or Light that gets inside will be big trouble to any Pilot, especially a newer Pilot... The Atlas has no such void.

I think this may be overstating the range limitation on the Awesome. We don't know for sure how they're going to handle minimum ranges, but even on the tabletop it wasn't a complete no-go, just harder to hit. Honestly, I expect the generally slow nature of the Awesome to be far more of an issue connecting with close-in skirmishers than anything specific to the PPCs.

Likely true, but given what we know and have seen of the LRM, and its min. range limit, I wouldn't bet against it...

Awesome.. replace the PPCs/Small Laser for 4 Large Lasers, better heat management, 3 (2/3/4 lasers at a time) weapon groups, 32 Damage for alpha, and no minimum range worth the range drop.

Really :D

#mwochat With us hitting the 100k forum user amount, and knowing signups are a lot more, is this passing expectations so far?

We are definitely on track. We have major traction, a solid fan base, and healthy numbers.

Healthy numbers.

And now explain "healthy numbers", because at this state, it's F grade. :D

Please remember, ladies and gentlemen, the devs are reaching a compromise between TT and real-time play, so any divergence from TT or other MW titles is carefully considered and observed in their F&F-beta for balance and overall player enjoyment.

Could not have said it better myself!

To put it into perspective, we have as many people registered as there are playing Steam's #2 and #3 most player-filled games combined.

I don't think we should get a free Mech to start the game... I think we should start the game on foot, with a shoulder fired SRM launcher, a flashlight, and a grappling hook...then we have to go out and get our Mech the old fashioned way. Something as valuable as a mech shouldn't just be given away you know.... you should feel like you've EARNED it!

OK Im confused here...

Re-confirmation of game max player size being 3 lances (1 company) vs another (24 total players) — Russ

Are they saying a game can be 12 vs 12 vs 12? As in 3 factions can play each other at the same time?

1 lance is 4 mech... 1 company is 3 lances= 12 total mech... but where does the VS another (24 total players. Or was this just worded wrong and you were tying to say the max size can be 1 company vs 1 company and this = 24 total players? SORRY... its just that the way its written looks like you mean 1 company of 12 mech can take on another 24 players as if it can be a 3 way battle.

Nope he means 3 lances = 1 company = 12 mechs. 12 vs 12 = a match or 24

I'm a bit skeptical on why system requirements are being so delayed, I'd like to to think that since the game is in alpha and around it's graphical requirement peek, that they should be ready around now.

My only thoughts on the entire tweet session, since it lasted only five minutes.

So you'd rather they completely remove the ability to queue with friends just to ensure that teams aren't stacked.

That's like trying to hammer in a -screw- with a butter knife. (wrong on multiple levels)

1. Letting people queue with their friends is good. One of the reasons why me and my friends quit playing WoT was because we had to just randomly join matchmaking at the same time and pray we got paired together. (yes I'm aware that you can duo-queue for free now, but that wasn't the case when I played)

2. You're looking at the symptom and not the cause. If the matchmaking takes into account premade groups when it pieces together people for a game, then it can just put similar sized groups on opposing teams. (aka If you have a premade group of 4, and get matched with 8 pubbies, then the enemy team should get a premade group of 4 with 8 pubbies.)

Yep this kept a couple of my friends out of WOT as well. Queing up with friends is huge. Glad they are not going to restrict it.
