I have no idea how a mech so epic can be labeled ugly, but to each his own. Also, I don't recall the Stalker ever having actual arms.

Yeah, it is the freakin same. The in-game image in the OP is at a weird angle.

If you flip back and forth, it's clear that it has changed and that the original concept was almost identical to the Battletech concept. A little change, originality, and adaptation to this particular game doesn't hurt in this case as they've retained the spirit and overall look of the original.

The original Stalker from the TROs is one hell of an ugly design, and I don't think we should bring that into the game. The MWO version is a lot easier on the eye, but yeah, it doesn't quite look like a Stalker anymore. The torso is too small, and the nose is too short.

My main problem with it, however, is that it doesn't give the impression of an 85 ton mech. In comparison, The two interpretations of this mech below look a lot heavier and more brutal:

its not the same, but its possible, different people = different look / eyes.
for me the middle part od the mech (back part of the nose is smaller then it was in conceptart). Ye for fighting it will be +, but visualy it looks ugly TO ME.

it will be slower catapult with missiles.

I voted yes and no. I think the model is great, and really suits the mech. However, I have never liked Stalkers, they are ugly.

However, the arms need to be lower and a bit smaller.

Ill buy one.
Dat alpha!

This.

The arms are too high, they should be lowered to be in line with the torso.

I like the Turtle with missiles strapped to its shell painted on the stalkers missile pod.

At this point, the actual model has been finalized and will be with us on Tuesday. There's not much we can do at this point to affect the actual physical modeling.

The torso needs raised, if you lower the arms they will hit the upper legs.

It could very well be the f'd up angle the pic is at too. How about we play the damn thing, not like they would change its look because 29 people thought it was bad.

After doing some ctrl-tabbing between the concept and the front page lineup of Stalkers I have come to the conclusion that it is the raised arms that messes with the look, at least in my book. In the concept art the arms are more or less even with the CT. In the implementation, the arms have been raised above the height of the torso. I disagree with this design decision, but there may or may not be a reason, related to that subject, that I'm not a CG artist.
