Its all happening just as I predicted. The game is devolving into nothing more than baserush online. When will they learn...

It's particularly funny because this concern has been brought up many many times on these forums back in August in Closed Beta, and nothing has been done to adress them. except of course the new conquest game mode that's been delayed twice now [it was originally supposed to hit sometime in SEPTEMBER, along with some kind of "advanced assault" mode, of which there is no longer any mention, ditto the "dropship mutator"]

What's really funny is "Capture the Base" won't be the only mode in Final Release.

What's really funny is final release is still many, many months off and we've had capture the red square for so long everyone is just tired of it.

How is that funny? Its sad more than anything. Why has it taken so long to add another game mode? And the next one is Assault? If its like the Missile assault mode in ******* then maybe it will be ok.

we need maps with random base positioning. then it will be hell of fun.

but is PGI capable of this feature in next 3-5 months timeframe ?

Sorry. 8 man or even 4 man pre-mades are not the majority of the player base. That would be like saying if the Yankees do something it means it applies to the Braves.

Besides. You can convince people on voice to do a lot of things that don't come naturally to PUGs.

It is bad map design and anyone who says otherwise is deluded.

the current gamemode is Assault...

the next one will be Conquest, it will probably be about capturing multiple bases, the more bases you control the faster the main capture bar of the enemy will drain..

nevertheless, it is indeed a bit scarce to just have 4 maps and 1 gamemode in Open Beta, but alas, patience is everything :lol:

Wow... you know, this would actually be really fun to play... Have really huge maps, with several RANDOM possible base starting points. Now that would really be fun. Would really give a whole new meaning to being a scout.

Or have a background in... I don't know, following orders? Primary objective is to capture the base, to do so I have to go to the base. Fight the force defending it and hold it till the timer runs out (reinforcements come, files are downloaded etc wotevah). If the enemy isn't there to fight, I save ammo and armor. A bonus at repair time. So if you are so hell bent on fighting and you know the OpFor is 80% likely to try to rush your base. Why not try something sneaky like set an ambush and attack the enemy AT YOUR BASE!!!

An amazing thing will happen, they will get to rush your base, and YOU WILL GET TO FIGHT THEM!!!

Amazing how strategy* works.

Then wait near your base for the inevitable rush? I mean if the law of averages is telling you its going to happen, wait for it, crush it and then win. They are only capping because nobody is stopping them.

This. In 8 mans right now it boils down to speed, position, and scouting. If you have more mobility than them, you can choose to engage or not. If your scouts beat their scouts you can force the team to guard their base. If they extend themselves you can hit the base and either cap or hit them from behind when they fall back to defend.

Working my way through the last couple bottles of some Pappy Van Winkle 23yr old. When that's done I've got a case of Aberlour 15yr that need attention. If this game stays trending down at this rate this I may have to think about restocking my cellar within the next 6 months........lol

It will boost whole game to new level.
cause then you dont know where is the enemy....which way you should go.... Now its spawn, going tunnel , rush/cap base or spawn, going tunnel, massacre everything in the tunnel, last mech going cap.
Zero flexibility atm.

You've missed the point. If it is possible for the two teams to completely bypass each other and then one team can win without firing a shot that is BAD PvP design.

What you tell your team to do doesn't matter at all. The design itself is what matters, not what a chaotic agent, such as players, may or may not do.

I'm not sure how well conquest mode will work out on the existing tiny maps.
