Marauder's artwork clearly places the AC/5 in center (upper!) torso. It looks actually like a turret with 360° turning capability. But we have had it in side torso for 25 years, so, I think we can go on with it.

only because the rigid TT rules at the time didn't allow it to be placed in the CT.

The record sheets are canon, the artwork is not. That's why the Dragon's concept art was changed to include an actual right arm after someone pointed out that it always had an upper AND lower right arm actuator.

The problem is, moving a weapon system to another location based on artwork does not always work within the Mech Construction Rules. An artist can move a weapon to another location because it might look cooler visually, but the per the game rules, it might be physically impossible to put that weapon system there. That is why I'd stick to record sheets if you want to be accurate. But aside from that point, sure make stuff look cool, you don't need to sell me on the idea, I'm an illustrator myself by trade.

What, like that impossible Mektek critter, the Wildcat? That freak had 2 rotary AC/20s....in the CT. Always wondered where they dropped out the engine.

If you look at the record sheets for the Orion, and use the proper construction rules, THERE IS NO REASON why one couldn't move that SRM-4 to the arm, as in the artwork. There are no space constraints, since that arm has plenty of room. I would say that it would be wiser to either leave it in the torso, or to move that single ton of ammo with the SRM to the arm, instead of separating them. The existing artwork for the arm joint doesn't allow for an ammo feed.

In the end, I'd just move both to the arm, if I had my choice.

Outside of the latest scult of the Mini, the Orion always looked goofy to me. The SRM and LRM on one arm and shoulder just makes it look lopsided in most pics, it has always had the stats of a compact Atlas and it should have the look that matches that. I'm sure when we see the Orion in this game, it will have the look it deserves.

This picture is how the Worded description in the TRO says the mech should look. I will have to look it up but I believe the TRO Worded description also mentions how the Orion could deliver a devestating punch with it's other arm. The Atlas was Commissioned by Kerensky, he wanted a Battlemech that would simply instill PANIC in all who would stand against it as soon as it was seen, and it worked very very well.

from the TRO

"The Atlas was designed as a last-ditch attempt to ensure the superiority of the Star League's Regular Army over the growing armies of the House Lords. It was an understandable reaction to the Cameron edicts passed from 2751 to 2761 by the High Council, which permitted the five Lords to double the size of their personal armies. General Kerensky himself set down the specifications for the Atlas. He said it should be "a 'Mech as powerful as possible, as impenetrable as possible, and as ugly and foreboding as conceivable, so that fear itself will be our ally."
