Yes i know it's still in beta testing, but when you start losing money in a founders mech you have to ask yourself is it broken, i have suggested this game to many of my friends who have actually installed and played for a week or so, but im sad to say that all of them think it's not worth the installation space on their hard drives. I asked why and these were the responses:-
"It takes too long to build up any sort of money to do things with"
"They are asking for too much real money"
"Is it supposed to be a pay to win game?"
"I played for 2 hrs a day for 5 days and only just scrapped together 1.5 mill c-bills"
"Graphics are good, but still too many bugs for an open beta game"
"The net coding is broke and its very unbalanced"
That's just some of the comments, and these are remarks from people who write programme modules free-lance and I.T technicians, i felt awful because i thought the game showed promise, i suppose the concept of the game is a good one and one that has potential to go along way but in its current form and in its current stage of development it looks and feels as though it's imploding in on itself.
I'm seriously thinking of getting a re-fund and find something better to chill out to because as it stands i just get seriously frustrated by the constant crashing to desktop, ridiculous and excessive screen shake when struck by streams of LRM's and Streaks, Hud bugs that are just too numerous to list here, losing money whilst in a founders mech, taking more than 3 hrs of playing (in pug grps) to get just 1 mill c-bills. Coming across 8 man pre-mades whilst pugging just isnt funny for the players on the recieving end of it.
PGI your losing more potential customers by the hour, you really need to start delivering something that people can sink their teeth into or this game just wont make it past open beta or be a lucrative as you hoped for, i think it will only be the die hard mech fans that will defend the game but realistically they have wet feet by walking in de-nile.

Thank the lord!
Seriously, I know I and many others in Kong are very negative at times, but I honestly am excited to see the game improve.
We will see what next patch brings.

Don't bother Paul - you have better things to do with your time. There will always be whiners and cryers. Bluten in particular is very humorous: Heaven forfend that a BUSINESS dare try to (*gasp*) make money, while offering a FREE TO PLAY game. Because of course those little ornaments and paint jobs took 1 programmer all of (maybe) a half day to code up and put into the game. Clearly, the fact that you have offered these things, during the holidays, means that PGI has given up and is just cashing in before the bottom falls out. CLEARLY.
This doesn't mean I don't think things can be better - but I'm willing to hang in there and see what happens, and in the meantime I'm having fun driving a mech and making new friends.

Be patient dood. Myself, I avoided playing for the last few months because I knew there would be many growing pains in beta. If nothing else, just take a break and come back when you hear about new big things like next weeks patch.
And save talk of the game dying out until it actually happens... I'll bet you 5 bucks there's still people playing MW4 right now (there still were several months ago, if they aren't now it's because they are all here on MWO instead), despite all of it's balance issues, and MW4 came out over a decade ago.

I can see why your friends would feel that way about most of that stuff, especially if they aren't big Mw fans....but I don't get them feeling the game overall is unbalanced, nor is it p2w, but I don't consider speeding up the grind P2W, maybe they do...which is wrong IMO

I suppose if they are referring to trial mechs being dropped against custom mechs, then yes in that respect is is unbalanced, but I think that is being fixed soon.

1. Impatient
2. Broke? (the game is free, though...fancy that!)
3. Uninformed
4. How many matches did he play in the 2 hours a day? Did he lose every game?
5. Wait a month and play again
6. Wait a month and play again

That's good to hear, thanks.
At current state, this game is for Battletech/Mechwarrior fans only, so it's not a good idea to invite friends yet.

1. Nope, there are a lot of other games out there where you gain levels or unlock things on daily basis, video games have changed.
2. Nope, the prices here are way above average, only Mech bays have a fair price.
3. Maybe not to win, but to have fun with the game. Pay or fight a hundred matches.
4. It doesn't matter, if playing trials were fun, everyone will be dropping in then, it's painful.
5. Agreed, MWO has bugs, but which game doesn't?
6. I'm waiting lights to assume their roles since they removed collisions.
