if i redeem the penny arcade offer today will it:

1) add 1 day premium time and cause my existing non-activated premium time + the 1 day offer time begin immediately on next login to the client?
2) activate 1 day premium time immediately and allow my existing non-activated premium time to remain unstarted until I activate it at some future time (at my discretion)
3) add 1 day premium time to existing non-activated premium time and remain unstarted until I activate it at some future time (at my discretion)

I think it just adds to time...it's not founders time so wouldn't be added to that pool. I think you get it right away and it starts ticking right away. I did it the other day but haven't been able to check.

I can confirm it just adds a day to your founders time. it will not activate any time, including the day if you have not activated yet.
