This is a very good IGN article on the future of PC gaming. Being that we play MWO, and many other PC only games discussed/mentioned throughout the forums over time, it applies.
MWO is mentioned in the article.

Raised over 7 million. Anyone who thinks PC gaming is dead is out of touch with reality.

Yeah, that dude is a legend though.
Wing Commander and Star Wars were two of the first space flight sims I ever played.
I even backed the Star Citizen project(Along with Project Eternity, Wasteland 2 and Shadowrun), and proudly so once i read how the multiplayer will go.
I honestly hope Kickstarter and Kickstarter like systems put publishers out of business.
Publishers are bad, Mkay....

When the new console generation hits next year you will probably see another explosion of "PC gaming is deaad!!" articles. As the consoles get older, the PC platform looks better and better, which is where we are right now and why there are so many good games for the PC at the moment. It's a cyclical thing and ~7 years from now the PC will be "great" again.
