As an aside, do you have a source for this? Just curious.

Units are technically only allowed one recruitment thread, though some ignore this and have gotten away with it, others have not

It would probably be better to have this thread in the Merc foorums, as you aren't recruiting for House Liao. In your thread in the House Kurita forums, it was specifically stated that you were recruiting to form a Kurita-focused unit in the first post, rather than this thread which doesn't show any Faction loyalty. I am all for Kurupt and you guys recruiting, but the Liao members who have voiced their concerns have a valid point about Faction forums being reserved for Faction threads.

Well, to be fair, at the time the post you're referring to was made, our intention was to enter the community warfare stage of MWO as a Kurita unit. Since then, though, folks have come to play with us based on the 2old2play side of things rather than the faction side of things, and so over at 2old2play, we've decided as a group that we'd remain factionless until such time that CW is implemented and it's clear what choices were going to be made available to the membership. While it might very well turn out that playing as a merc corp will ultimately be the best choice for the players who meet at 2old2play, we aren't at that point, so posting in that forum would be no more appropriate.

Again, to be fair, the post you're referring to was made on Feb. 22nd, well before CB begun, and when all of this was theoretical. While the original thrust of the recruitment was with the idea of finding a home in a House and looking specifically at Kurita, that thrust has naturally changed... such is to be expected in the course of a year over which membership changed and grew both here and at 2old2play. The original intent, though, which is finding folks who are into what 2old2play represents, is still there. Some of us like the roleplay side of this game, it's in the faction talk forums where we're likely to find other RPers. Not outrageous that we'd have a post in multiple sections of the forum to that effect.

All of that said. I don't want to see negativity associated with 2old2play because it's been a godsend for me when it comes to gaming. I cannot speak highly enough of it and it makes me sad to see it be a source of controversy around these parts, whether that controversy be surrounding how we may have, correctly or incorrectly, approached efforts to "spread the word" about 2old2play, whether it be the 25+ age limitation, what have you. It's a positive community, filled with good folks looking to game with other good folks. Some of us are big nerds who like the imaginary universe we're playing in. Well Ferret, I have no issues with 2old2play or any of the members of it. My post was just an outsider's take on why some of the Liao faithful were a bit miffed.
