Maybe this was answered somewhere that I can't find but can someone please explain to my why if I hit sell, for example, on my 1X Cataphract equipped with endo steel, DHS, and a full compliment of weapons that the game wants to give me a whole 1 million credits for it?

Even STOCK it costs 4 times that price.

I don't think we should be able to sell stuff back at cost, but this isn't even used car salesman trade in levels of return if you sell a mech. It's ridiculous.

To my knowledge, when you sell a mech it automatically checks the "sell chassis" or whatever box only, and leaves the "include equipment" box unchecked. So if you sell it that way, the weapons (and probably heat sinks) will stay in your inventory for use on another mech. I'm just not sure on the heat sinks, haven't tested it that way.

I think it should be changed as well. Its really frustrating. I know the game needs money sinks to keep people playing, but between repair and rearm, huge costs for XL engines, the cost for switching a mech back and forth between ferro/endo/DHS EVERY time, and the low rewards when you dont use a premium account, selling a mech should get you back into a cbill comfort zone. If they dont change anything else, at LEAST change this!

And if they dont change this, they need to let us buy mechs used at the prices we are selling them for!

Pretty sure all mech sales are handled by a clone army of this guy:

Considering Endo steel and DHS combined is around 2 million credits even if you were JUST selling the chassis it should be more than a million return.

As far as I know (I haven't tested, but it looks that way), upgrades won't change the sell price of a mech. Apparently the buyer doesn't care that you had Endo-Steel, DHS or Artemis installed.

It's also terribly cheap. I think a Commando chassis sells for maybe 220,000 or so... not sure what % of its original price that is (you can't buy a chassis without also paying for all the junk inside), but it just doesn't sound right.

Well, bear in mind that when you're paying the initial price you're including every piece of equipment that comes with it, in particular, the engine. The commando's stock engine should sell for what, 400k or so at least, right? So in reality you're getting close to 1/3rd the value of what you paid for when selling it back.

Still lousy, and I agree the bare-bones chassis should sell for more, and def. should be adjusted based on what upgrades have been installed.

As for satisfying the whole carrot and stick approach, from the developer's perspective, surely there are more inventive and satisfying ways to keep players playing aside from gimmicky, unintended money sinks like these.
