I could never play that game on account of how bad the graphics were.

I think you're missing the point. The point is training that actually teaches you how to use your mech in a, you know, safe forgiving environment?

LOL that looks exactly what my MWO crosshairs do, moving all over the place when trying to shoot the damn lights. haha

Ya I think a one time hands one training mission would be good. But I think this will be low priority

grr, no, that's wrong wrong wrong. If that's the case Paul & co. need to re-evaluate. I mean, it doesn't make any sense, least of all from a financial sense (and they are after all trying to, you know, turn a profit). New Player Experience should be Priority #1. Numero Uno!

Player retention is how they're going to grow the player base, and by extension their financial base. Russ made such a big deal in all his interviews about drawing in new players that for them to shove this to the end of the queue would boggle my mind.

Look, I'm a die-hard mechwarrior old-timer and I am saying PGI you have my permission to do a feature freeze and focus exclusively on bug squashing and New Player Experience resources. I am Totally Ok playing with what we've got now until you've finished those other things, because I sincerely believe it will create a strong foundation which will ensure MWO's longevity.

Who's with me? Anyone?

They have already stated they are working toward the new player experience. Put the pitch forks away and wait to see what they come up with.

There are the training grounds now, and its constantly being added to. I don't think anyone has said a tutorial is a bad idea, or that training grounds shouldn't be implemented, including the PGI staff. All things take time and money. Spend money so they have it, and wait.

meh, not sure I agree with you. Please point me to the Command Chair post about NPE. And the training grounds videos, while 'ok,' are zero substitute for a solid single player training mission.

Also pitchforks? I don't think there's that much flame here.

Yes something like those tutorial missions would be nice.
If Sergeant Unther returns, that would be awesome! B)

And PGI said they would like to add something like those to MW:O,
but don't expect them before March 2013, considering the current roadmap ,and current communications from PGI

I have seen in mentioned several times. Sorry I don't have the link for you, and the search function on the forums isn't the greatest. Maybe they can fix that and a lot of the whining and questions will go away.

Yeah, a friend of mine doesn't even know he could use "c" to center his torso to his legs.

Really need a tutorial.
