i have maxed the option in the 3 ravens to elite-lvl. i want to sell 2 to get a medium and max that 1 out.

If i rebuy 1 of those mechs do i have my mech-tree still filled up to elite/lvl

Rebel Ace, yes. The perks you have unlocked on a Mech do not disappear if you sell it. Simply put: 3 same Mechs needed to unlock Basics so you can train on Elite. Again you need 3 same Mechs all Elite to unlock Master slot. The 2x bonus does not require you to have all 3 in the Mech Bay.

I only keep, except my Founder's Mechs, a few Mechs I mostly play. 11 bays have been enough so far and room to spare.

They should work on some sort of 3D view of your "garage" to make people feel compeled to fill it with all of the variants and buy more mechbays.
