This operates on a few assumptions: 1) All mechs will be available all the time for cash/MC 2) Temporary boosts will be available for cash/MC 3) ditto for cosmetic items

Bundles can really help make that trepidant first-time purchase a lot more rewarding, as well as a way to showcase a particular mech/variant, even if all mechs are available for sale individually. Ideally I see a bundle as a limited-time purchase combining the following:

A Mech
A temporary XP or C-Bill boost of some variety (x number of days, x number of matches, etc)
Special cosmetic items
Possibly a mech and a variant

People are going to buy all of these anyway, but providing a bundle to get them together at a discount (more than a mech alone but less than the sum of it's separate parts) could be an attractive package and would make for a satisfying first-time purchase, and if it's only around for a little while people will want it before it's gone. While all mechs may be available at all times for purchase, bundles could be specially crafted to highlight one mech, either a new release or a bundle based on a special theme (a notable variant from a fiction appearance plus a matching paint/decal!)

Bundles. You know you want one.

I do like the concept of bundles. LoL does it, and it works fairly well. It also incentivises people to spend a bit more at once. Pay a slightly lower price for the bundle, but more money to the devs at once.
