Give it 2 energy hardpoints for both arms so i can run a 4 medium laser with a AC 20 hunchback.

Buff the 4G? Out of curiosity, what is your current loadout? (include armor distribution). No mech is worth it's weight with a lame loadout... and I've never found my 4G to be wanting -once I figured out a configuration that didn't suck that is. Before that though, I thought I made a terrible mistake by choosing it as my Founder's mech.

Well i currently have it sniper fit with 2x large lasers and a gauss rifle. I am fairly happy with the range i can hit out to, doing 350+ damage is average every game. Though the gauss rifle does tend to blow up, a bit of map awareness and good positioning helps mitigate that. Also its funny watching someone with medium lasers try to shoot you from far away and having it do minimum if no damage while there are other guys to shoot at 200 m from him.
If i want to brawl i roll with the 4sp with 2 srm6 and 4 medium lasers since your not gimped that much by getting one of your shoulders shot off, you can solo a 4g with ac20 fit all day in that thing. Any other fit 4g without an AC20 is not something i plan on running that a cataphract can do better.

Gauss, all armor front-facing, 50 shots, MPL, good engine, and A GOOD TEAM
Made my two Gaussbacks (used identical build for the other ballistic one) not the hardest mechs I've worked on Master-ing.

Moving the head hardpoint to the arms is a bad idea. Those extra lasers on the arms wont help you when they are eventually blown off, but the head hardpoint being completely indestructible will still let you attack (even kill) people when the rest of your weapon systems are gone.
If you want extra lasers with your ballistics, try the 4H or the CTF-1X (4H on steroids).

What's your load out Loc?
HBK-4G
AC20
Machine Gun
MedLas x3
std200 engine
DHS x12
Endo
Armor 336/338 (legs at 47/48 for weight purposes, since those extra 2 points adds enough to prevent you from maxing tonnage)
Armor distribution (this is crucial for ALL mechs...)
LT: 33/15
CT: 42/22
RT: 33/15 (more up front here is not bad, but I don't like any spots to be softer than 15...)
3t of A/C 20 ammo -legs
1t of machine gun ammo -leg
Firepower: 37
Tonnage: 50
Heat Efficiency: 1.23
Speed: 69kph (w/speed tweak)
Running this build is a real keep-it-simple game. Get in close, keep machine gun blazing, and be wise with A/C20 ammo. Use lasers as needed. The A/C has much better range than the machinegun, but if bullets are hitting, so will the A/C so I generally use it to paint my target before committing the big shots, although I will snipe with it by itself if the opportunity presents itself. Triple medlas while you're waiting for the A/C to reset and of course for when your out of ammo. May want to chainfire the lasers on Caustic Valley, but I find I can walk around with the triggers down nearly the whole time when needed... this thing is really fun, and it's rare I don't get at least 1 kill, damage over 400, and numerous assists with it.

edit: I liked this loadout so much that my Ilya is like a monster version of it, with machine guns in each arm, A/C20 in torso, and 2 large las for good measure. Mechs tend to fall apart in it's front arc, but being a big target makes it a dicier game...
