Title says it all, I enjoyed the beta up until the last two patches, I didn't even mind the slow economy, I am very sad to say however that the performance problems and imbalance in ECM has mad this game no longer fun for me.

I want to be clear I am not threateneing to leave or making the choice to leave with the intent of depriving myself of playing the game. This post is being made because over the last 2 weeks I have found myself playing other things, I miss mechwarrior, I come back I play one match and I leave for several more days. I want to play, I want to like this game, but right now I simply don't.

I understand you dude, totaly, im in same position - actually last 3 patches i played just to test them and its the only thing i even open mwo, but this is beta and it is supoused to be like this ( more on forums than in actuall gameplay ). You gotta understand that there is a lot of those nice things to cover, they just need time. MWO is large area to cover, specially com warfare. Devs have great ideas - they require time tho.

I used to think i was ok with ECM. after all less streakcats... but unfortunantly Lrms are pointless right now. half my firepower is usually lrms. cant play the long range game unless i gauss or ppc, both take up too much tonnage. sometimes i use regular srms, but they cost too damn much to re-arm when they are half my firepower. It's a laser/ac20 fest now, unless your the ecm mech. then its 140 kph, streak/scout/jammers. basiclly, i cannot play the style i want to play anymore. it's not viable. If i cant play the way i want to play. Why play? Cant mount an ac/20 or 2 uac5s to a centurion without having the wang. THAT kinda feels like pay to win. If ECM has been in mind from atleast conception of making the wang a MC only mech, knowing that missles will be pointless and rearming costs overpriced, The developers have indeed conspired to make the wang variant a pay 2 win chasis. with a freaking Ac/20 and no missle hardpoints, they saw this coming and capitalised on it. I have been following the progress of this game for over a year, and have liked all said progress untill this point. But i no longer enjoy the game. being forced to play with lasers to make money, forced to not use missles because they are not profitable, forced to not use lrms because they are now a waste of tonnage. So i too will be back. When i can play the way i want to play, and not be coerced to buy a optimized mech because of a game breaking piece of equipment.

The irony, Mims, is that the YLW is considered something of an underpowered config with a very poor weapons array. Its only real benefit is the C-bill boost (notice how the Ilya Muromets is a lot more popular than the Wang? Better hardpoints). Given the convergence/aiming/netcode/etc issues going on right now, an arm-mounted AC/20 amounts to little more than a big, expensive bullet-magnet to absorb fire while you work a target over with your lasers.

Come to think of it, the only time I get killed by AC/20s at all is when I'm stupid and hit the brakes in front of a Katapult. For a gun supposedly meant for brawling, AC/20s are terrible at tracking close targets.

And I still find my various missiles quite useful. Mind, I'm not running any dedicated support platforms at the moment, but I still get kills with Centurion A's LRM rack, my Hunch 4SP's Artemis SRMs are still a huge slap to whatever gets close, and calling SSRMs "totally" useless against ECM Lights is simple hyperbole.

HOW I use LRMs has changed, that's true. Generally I've found that if you're frustrated by your inability to get hits with indirect LRMs, you're firing too early. Wait another minute or two into the match for your allies to get and maintain target lock on an enemy, and to flush out or kill off enemy ECM before you start raining on the other guys' parade.

That or make friends with somebody that likes TAGs.

If ECM were the problem, I'd agree with you. But it isn't.
