Hey Everyone,

I got into the closed beta a long time ago played a bit but things came up I switched to some other games and this one kind of fell by the wayside. Anyway I am now patching and looking to get back into the game. Seeing as I only played a bit in closed beta Im sure much has changed.

For a new player coming into the game is there any first steps or info tidbits I should know or is this game good for just jumping into the fray and blowing some stuff up lol.

Try different trail mechs to see what weight class and play style you prefer. In matches try to stay with the group don't expose your self too much. Jump onto one of the TS3 servers.

Be sure to read up on the patch notes and ask about any unsure purchases here or in the battlemech guide sections. Try to steer clear of general forums if you are looking for help unless you are used to the possible negative responses from some players.

Check out "Ohm's Guide" too. You can just search for it using those words.

I would advise against taking LRMs or SSRMs into your next 5-10 matches, and even then go in with an LRM5 or an SSRM2.

I would definitely recommend reading up on the capabilities of ECM as it is currently the most impactful change that has been made since closed beta.
