Yeah, the guys with premium time for the last month and a half that haven't had to actually WORRY about running missiles and their cost, or losing money because you can't play anything heavier than 60 tons with an XL engine and make a profit that means something.

Us free players? We made a higher net gain running TRIAL 'Mechs than our own 'Mechs, simply because the RNR costs were WAY too high, and quite honestly; pointless.

People always seem to make the argument that "RNR is more simulation" or it's more "immersive". Quite frankly, I don't see how clicking "auto-repair, auto-rearm" makes the game any more realistic. I just happen to lose some money after a match.

PGI has earned major points in my book for removing RNR and overhauling the entire c-bill mechanic as a whole, and I'm actually WILLING to spend money on this game now.

EDIT;
I should mention that yes; I'm saying "All gripers are founders, but not all founders are gripers".

Yeah, playing free with RNR made something like an atlas essentially impossible unless you gimped it severely.

That's exactly what I meant.

I'm a founder and I'm glad that R&R is going away...

Most of my mechs were not so bad to repair and rearm... but my mechs equipped with Artemis were almost non-viable for generating C-Bills.

I'm a founder and I fully recognize that the previous RnR had many major flaws, and either led to many ammo builds being unaffordable to non-premium players, or leading to rampant abuse of the 75% free rearm.

I'm actually indifferent about repair and re-arm, it never really concerned me, though not for the reasons you think. I don't run missle boats and I don't us XL engines. So this really wont affect me either way. Glad it will help you others who were having issues with it though.

My ALRM15 Catapult was fine. I just went a little hot and added an extra ton of ammo and removed a heat sink. Saved me 90,000 in reload after every round. I also didn't bother to fix my items and engine, so another 30,000 saved. All in all, my 140,000 repair bill was 20,000 when I was done.

I don't think they removed R&R because it was crippling people. I think they removed it because people just ignored it, by and large, and played with banged up Mechs with less ammo instead.

Also a founder who is glad about it too. Please stop grouping all the founders!! They're not all anti-free users. :(

Is it going away for good or just until the economy is in better shape?

Obviously getting a bonus on gross earning instead of net earnings (effectively what we get after the change) is better for founders, but I much prefer the proposed system to what we had. It solves far more issues than it introduces.

I didn't ignore the costs like a sploiter.

I'm indifferent and a founder.

I've been running without my premium time, since the activation button has been added to the game.

Don't make those generalizations please. They are almost always wrong.

Um.... My premium time isn't active. MOST founders do not have their premium time active. Yet I continued to make money AND always repaired and rearmed my mech before dropping. If you were not making money... you are doing it wrong.

Yes I want Repair and Reload back. Even if the little button is checked to repair things automatically I liked the fact that R&R made me occasionally reconsider actions in a match. That was what adds to realism. "Hmmm... maybe I don't want to stand here and let them blow off that arm even if there isn't a weapon in it... Endo Steel is still expensive to repair." It rewarded not taking damage. Considering people would occasionally hold back or run for the hills when they were the last one standing on their side against 5 enemies proves it had an affect on the game.

What? My A1 with 6x srm6 cost me 10-20k to repair so often matches with 200k profit (win). That was with artemis and other ways riced up. Ofc I never rearmed or repaired items. GREAT moneymaker and fun to drive.

Could get the close to the same with my Awesome 9m laserboat but only if I was destroyed else repair up to 50k or so. Still; artemis SRM6 A1 was THE income machine.

It will be interesting to see if this patch screws me.

I know someone who runs away when the team is losing and if you're already in the fight it can be impossible to get away safely. So the next best thing he does is gets himself cored cleanly to prevent a high repair costs (for example running back in a straight line or staying in the fight without torso twisting). This wouldn't be realistic because a real pilot wouldn't want to die easily like that but try to at least attempt to stay alive.

Sadly, the time I've spent in this game has caused me to believe strongly that the only way to get them to fix aspects that are broken is to dogpile on with everyone else abusing the system and force their hand.

Yes! Spread the gap between founders and freemiums! Civil strife will be the community warfare people want!
