FINALLY! The removal of the '''race to cap'' idea most players have been using for countless months now.

With the bonus from Capture Win and Assist, hopefully the game will progress towards MechWARior Online. Not Capture Race Online.

I have been waiting for this change for months.

Your meant to fight the enemy, not avoid them.

Not my problem that the enemy team never placed defence on the base, and its a valid way of winning a game without using exploits.

I just play defense and shoot the one or two ECM ravens with direct fire weapons. Seems to be working, even with the borked net code.

I think just to annoy you further I will start cap racing EVERY match after the patch on tuesday just to show you that removiong those bonuses did nothing but give trolls a new toy.

If you actively protect your base they have to fight you. If your base is getting capped... well.... you apparently don't know how to do what I just stated.

Avoiding combat completely is not what this game is about. Sure, go for the cap. But dont intentionally avoid the enemy, never even firing your weapons. Battlemechs are designed with armour and bristling with weapons. What is the point if you never fire them during the match.

I have seen you guys race off to avoid the enemy when im on your team. All 7 of you. To solve this problem, i trail behind and fire off my energy weapons into the sky as a beacon for combat. Sure enough, it has helped reduce the damage columns full of 0's, now it does not work if the enemy team is doing the same damn thing.

With any luck this change will entice players to desire the lucrative CB cash flow from destroying the enemy, rather than the few stray CB's lying around from a simple non-combat capture.

It is pretty difficult to intentionally avoid combat in an Atlas. I pick a flank and go. If nobody from the other team happens to be on that flank, I decide whether to come around behind or continue on to cap. You would be surprised how often the Atlas Ninja Cap works though.

SO now all we are going to have is the same fight to the death we have had for the last 4 months! So much better :)

Seems to me that most of the battles I have been playing have plenty of pew pew already, and are ending in cap only after either much of the other team has been killed, or occasionally because the other team just wandered off leaving the base wide open. (I played one battle over the weekend where my team capped with a Dragon and 2 Hunchbacks...who needs ECM ravens when the other team is not paying any attention to their base at all!)

I think the removal of R&R costs is just going to encourage people to spam Atlases in battles even more.

The problem with base capping is that the reward system was set up in a way that made a fast base cap the most efficient way to make cbills. The changes to the economy will drastically reduce rewards for instant base caps and force people to actually do damage and get kills to make money.

Maybe try thinking outside of your narrow little perspective before responding to people.
