Mm. I'm going to agree with the other people speaking up here saying that Founders aren't all bad. The Legendary Founders just think they're the universe's gift to us. :)

Also, I'll have to agree that this will make the new user experience MUCH better. Hope to see an influx of new players very soon.

This is also interesting, that so many other founders are tired of the golds, they distance themselves from them actively.

I like the new economics. Anything to get more people to play the game. I'm the level of founders I am because I love the idea of the game, big stompy robots, and I have expendable money at the time. This doesn't mean I feel entitled at all. The more people playing, the better.

Good point I shall edit my post to reflect that it is a vocal minority of founders that wish for the game to be actively hostile towards new players.

I just can't wrap my head around their view point. They seem to think boring and agravating game play is some how character and skill building its just like

what?

its funny that the same twelve people staunchly defending the game NO MATTER WHAT (Yes telling people that actually care enough about the game to post what they think to leave - who wants to damage the game again) calling people who speak their mind "the vocal minority"

I for one hate the "Founders tag always = Better" crap. Just because you bought in doesn't mean you have any more say, or any better opinion, than any other pilot. Plenty of non-Founders have good insight and opinions, and dividing the community is actually hurting the game, rather than helping it. I bought in because I wanted the game to get into Open Beta, then Full Release, not because I'm better than anyone else. My opinions should be judged on their worth, not whether there is a colored badge next to my name.

You have no idea how happy I am to see this game actually making the new player experience better.

Now when I ask my friends to play the game I know I wont have to cajole them for them to try and break through the trial barrier.

Hey founders,

Remember all those times people told you the new player experience was terrible and that they weren't enjoying it and you guys told them to shut up and take it or to stop playing and leave?

Well guess what you are bitching and moaning about the changes and how you will never spend another dollar because new players aren't getting a crap experience I have one thing to say to you.

Don't like it...

LEAVE

the game will be better off with out your self entitled ridiculousness.

edit: Obviously this is not directed at all the founders, just the vocal minority that seem to actively want the game to fail due to their unenlightened self interest.

Actually it was founders that suggested the changes they made. So... SHUT IT PUNK

like they arent founders too

hey OP - serious question - do you think that the TAG buff would be in the game if everyone had shut up like the good little sheep you want and never said anything?

Lets see...
Founders vs Non-Founders
Pugs vs Premades
Pro-ECM vs anti-ECM

I probably missed a few, but yes, unfortunately there are several divides.

Really, because most of the founders i've seen posting have been telling every one to **** off for not liking the game as is.

What I find laughable is that some Founders seem to think they are 'investors' whose opinions have more weight.

Are people complaining about new players having an easier time getting to own their first mech?

Seems like those complaints would be pretty silly.. I haven't seen anyone making such complaints.

I seriously think any post that calls a Legendary a "Gold" should just be deleted... I've never chimed in on one of these before but its like a giant "Troll Bait" sign. Even if the argument is valid it just makes it sound childish. Its like using a racial slur to try and make a point. It just works against you.

This - I'm quite happy here. It would take a truly broken economy before I would give up playing with giant mechs.

Actually, plenty of us were against how shafted the economy was vs non-Premiums and are behind these long overdue changes. Only idiots would want the game to have no appeal at all to newer players. That's how a game dies quickly. Smart people know that the entire future of the game depends on making it as good as it can for new users so they will then want to hang around and later drop money on it. A boost also shouldn't feel like it's required just to get anywhere, which was the case. With the patch, everyone will make more money by default, which is good, while the Premium has less of an impact. It will be more optional like it should be, and not as required like it was before.

This is an interesting phenomenon I've noticed. As if being a founder was something akin to stock.

Even if it were treated that way though power still goes to the majority holder which is decidedly not the founders :)
