With the new economy possibly being farked, it would be appreciated if those of us who don't want our premium time to run down during this time could get a one time pause button.

One of the reasons you should have waited. Not a flame. Just saying. (Personally, time is the factor for which I am holding off.)

True, however drastically changing the nature of the economy wasn't in the cards at the time. I want to try a few games out with premium time to see how it works, but if it is significantly lower and shows a diminish in my investment, than I want it on pause until everything is worked out.

If they find it to be a broken mechanic, and there is enough voice for it, it may happen. I would not hold your breath though. :D

with that logic most people wouldnt get premium time at all. I activated my 24 hour premium time not knowing Id get caught in a blizzard at my friends house. things happen that people dont know is gonna happen. Like someone wrecked their car into power lines now x amount of players dont have electricity for a few days, all that premium time is now lost. I wouldnt pay money to have it wasted like that. How bout if they make it based on time logged in and just sell in less time given. like the 24 hour one would last me personally a week because I have a life outside my computer. why should those who have nothing but time to play get the better deal? At least this way players are getting the same amount of time wether they use it all in a day week or month is up to them. Im sure more people would buy and use it this way than it being on a world timer.

I have to say that I have rarely bought playing time for an online game; at least since WoW's early days. MWO has inspired me to do so again because it is sooo promising and (even though beta) a damned blast play. However, I'm feeling a bit chapped at the moment. At 5 PM CST yesterday, I had 24 hours left of a 72 hour purchase made on the weekend. I've been trying to get on to MWO for some time today whilst what's left of my 24 hours bleeds away even though I'm not actively logged into MWO.

I previously posted about this but @Axl Barude put it pretty well. Crap happens and the play time we expect to have doesn't always happen. What might be missed in all this is the fact that a fair number of us are family men with other commitments above and beyond gaming.

If we buy premium time, it would appear perfectly logical to count down the time during which the player is actively logged into MWO game servers; not simply due to the universal passage of time. I think it's time for some serious SWoT examination with regard to features/polish vs. bugs. In this case, I believe this bug needs priority or revenue vs. budget suffers a hit.

Now that I've learned my lesson, or until the issue is resolved, buying premium time will be a rarity going forward; especially during beta.

They have several options for days of premium time, I find it absurd that they should consider every hiccup in a normal every day life to reimburse players that get "screwed" due to unforeseen events, especially if PGI does not cause said event.

I paid for some Premium Time. I don't mind paying for the gaming I am getting. I think overall this online game is superior to the Xbox and PC shoot'em-up FPS games I have wasted hours and dollars on to date.
As to time, that's a personal thing; I felt the real-time clock as opposed to a game-use was to encourage us to spend more time online. Whether I have the time or not, the service is available.I guess it's like paying for cable and having a job. I'm paying for service when I can't really avail myself of it, but them the money they get allows developers to do a better job.
ok, my opinion I know, but I felt someone had to say tht there is good reason to set this up the way they did.

I want to use what I pay for, not have it dwindle away.

The reasoning behind the premium time ticking away while we are offline is plain and simple. PGI wants more of our money. There is no reason why we should have our premium time ticking away while offline. It only shows how greedy this company is.

I decided to support the company by buying a founders package, and yet it ticks away while offline. Shame on this company for treating loyal customers like this.

Boooooooooooooooooooooo @ PGI!
