PGI should build a unique brand new Battlemech! Battle mechs are introduced through books, games, lore, even stolen from Japanese companies. PGI should add to Battletech lore as well and begin adding new Battlemechs to the mix. Perhaps a fan based competition. Have the community compete by drawing and creating new battlemechs to be included in MWO. The winner would at the very least get the first Hero variant of his winning chasis named after him/her along with their own made up lore and story if they so chose.

I concur.
They are already taking some liberties against Canon, why not! It would be ground breaking, but, it all fairness, should be done at the end of the time line, so that it truly is a new concept and does not detract from the lore.

The only such mech I know of is a rare variant piloted by PGI's Paul I. I targeted it once on the battlefield, and the variant came up as:
PAUL-I8PP

No reason the should not. It'd be ignorant to assume that all canon and lore about CBT covered every possible 'mech ever.

They weren't stolen from Japanese companies, Fasa paid for the rights to use them, than a new company bought that old company and decided not to honor the past deal.
