Ok so first off I'm happy that a TK penalty is being added in the patch today. However actual tk'ing in my experiance is quite rare but team fire is not. Far far too often some dbag isn't paying attention to what he's doing and hammers my back to red with an alpha strike then a jenner finishes me off shortly there after in 2 secs. This needs to be curbed and one of the best ways I can think of doing it is to have a neg cb modifier for team dmg the same way there is a positive cb modifier for enemy dmg.

If the new economy system added in the patch today is going to have a +25*dmg done to enemys cb modifier then there should be a -5 or -10*friendly dmg modifier as well. I think this would go along way to discourage reckless firing/team dmg and cause people to be more careful, thoughtful and stratigic with their attacks and bring a better team based depth to the game overall. This negitive cb modifier would be ontop of the TK penalty imo and would together pretty much eliminate tk'ing.

just remove friendly fire. This plus RnR removed = mindless shoot'em'up-warrior, what we always wanted and what we founders payed our money for, when we did read what they planned

not

All the careful shooting in the world isn't going to keep some ***** from walking in front of me while I'm zoomed and rapid firing three weapons groups of AC2s.

My unit always tries hard to avoid friendly fire, but penalizing it would be a bad idea, simply because it cannot be avoided. At some point, your'e going to shoot a teammate in the back. These things happen.

The penalty is having to say "oops, sorry" and hoping they'll drop with you again without returning the favor.

Honestly I've never found friendly-fire from my POV problematic. There have been times when I'm using my Med Lasers and a Jenner or Raven run through my stream. But I've never full on alpha striked someone in the back. There comes a time that when your teammates are shooting in one direction, you don't walk into that direction. If you're a victim of accidental friendly fire this often, I can only help but think you're the problem. Stop running into people's LOS and you won't have this issue. I don't and I never have.

Friendly fire in its current state is fine. It'll help players be more disciplined with their triggers.

oh my, i could pick this apart so easily it's not even funny

and lets be honest, i've had teamkills (purely accidental) from just colliding with one of my teammates, so what do you think punishing friendly fire is going to do?

oh yes please, show me how you pick this apart with your insane rethorical skills with which you fail to understand such a simple comment.

Yes lets be honest, i tked too, accidental and even because i wanted to in some very rare occasions.
The only punishment there should be for TKIng and TDing should be bans if reported multiple times by multiple persons.

Hell even a grief system like planet side would be fine by me. Get 500 grief for a tk and if you get 1k in an hr your weapons locked till it goes down or something. But elder your not being constructive At All. You don't like the r&r removal well alot of us don't myself included but go troll your flame against that elsewhere.

Currently, the unit I run with can field a maximum of a 4 mech squad (lance) on any engagement, with the average deployment being a 2 man fire team. The reason that is important is that a majority our matches include a large number of PUGs on our side as well. Is this a problem? No, because its completely okay for casual gamers to do their thing. However, with the old rewards system in play, I have noticed time and time again a "friendly" mech dive right in front of my or my squadmates firing line just to get the kill. Which means those lasers which were already in the process of their On Time must now be pulled wild and off target to avoid shooting said "friendly" in the back. It happens. Hell, from time to time, I myself have walked in front a squadmate's firing lane.

With that said, DO NOT REMOVE friendly fire. If I walk in front of an Awesome that just Alpha'd 4 PPC's, I expect to be hit by those PPC's, Its my fault. However, penalizing the shooter, because I screwed up is also not correct in my mind.
