So I was working trying to get my (unfortunately) Xbox360 controller to work for MWO. I would prefer dual joysticks, but finances are limited. My biggest issue with the stick configs is there is NO sensitivity adjustment option. As a result, I switched to KB/M config so I could turn my torso at a reasonable speed because the 360 controller's right stick turns it SO slow I cannot aim for anything. Then of course, the mouse can be WAY oversensitive sometimes too. I propose an adjustment feature so players can get the speed of torso rotation specific to their preference.

Can I get a "top speed adjuster," too? You know, so I can set how fast my Mech can move without having to change the engine?

And while we're at it, how about the ability to set our own weapons ranges? I'm sure nobody would just set their AC/20 to the range of a Gauss Rifle, right?

Yeah, major flaw in this "let us set" concept. I'd go so far as to call it a fatal flaw myself.

I think the idea is to limit torso twist speed to whatever percentage of the normal max speed you want, like how most games have a user definable limiter for analog input.

This is what I meant.

Not to heckle the rest of you, but no combination of joysticks or thumbpads will ever equal the performance of a mouse. A mouse is just a far closer analog to what you're doing on-screen - pointing at something to shoot it. I highly recommend learning to mouse it, or you're going to end up like those poor Halo players in the mouse v. pad test...

i'm glad you have fun with kb/m. i don't.

been trying to get the stupid kb/m to work well enough to not (rhymes with "duck") since i joined in september, but am not even close. honestly glad the Clans are not here yet, i couldn't pass a trial of position with the stupid kb/m to save my (rhymes with "grass"). based on experience with stick supported versions of the franchise, i can plainly say i can not come close to dancing a target with kb/m that i could with my stick/throttle. i have even had some ___ (fill in the blank as you see fit) in MWO comment while i'm trying to survive as last mech that i must be trying to play with a stick... but i can't take the time to correct their impression by typing that i'm using KB/M!

getting the adjustments right for the implementation they have here at this point would require a training/practice drop (matches where there is fighting are not appropriate, especially since adjustments may need the ability to discon and come back shortly thereafter. so for now i am stuck with doing the best i can, but it is not better, nor even close.

Mechs were not designed to be controled by a keyboard or mouse. Look in the cockpit. If they ever stabilize Joysticks Ill be using a JS and Throttle fully programable ones. I partially use them now for the toggles for things like TAG.

I use a joystick in my left hand and mouse in my right combo.

I use the joystick X axis for turning and the Y axis for throttle control basically replacing wasd and keeping the mouse for aiming, which for me is kinda more fun and adds to the immersion.

I found that using the keyboard that if you release the W or S key nothing happened your mech wouldn't slow down or stop, I know in Mechwarrior3 this was called constant throttle and could be turned off in the settings which i always did tell i got a joystick and used the same set up i do now.

In my opinion being able to change this would make the keyboard more viable, i know you can hit X for full stop but should we really be having to hit a extra unnecessary key with every thing else going on? just my opinion though
