It's the weakest hero mech, and I never use it anymore.

It's weak, weapon-wise. It needs either a missile hardpoint or 2, jump jets (assuming these will get fixed soon), or ECM. Any one of those things would make it valid.

The trouble with the Yen Lo Wang is that in battletech canon it has an Axe or a fighting Claw (I think the Claw can out later) for melee combat... With out the Axe the Wang is very underpowered... Maybe, just maybe, when melee comes to the game the Yen Lo Wang will get it's lost axe or maybe the claw like hand it has now will work in combat...

The Yen Lo Wang needs an AXE in it's left hand. Both for lore reasons, and for hitting anything that gets too close to it. Admittedly, this means that they would need to implement melee damage, too.
Actually, to fit the current build to lore, it needs claws instead of a left hand. Until PGI decides to implement melee weapons/combat (that would be very interesting, just make it a 20m weapon with a 1-2 second recycle time that does damage dependent upon the melee weapon equipped, like Axes/Swords are 2 sec doing 7 damage but with greater reach and claws 1 sec recycle at 5 damage for instance) then the YLW will continue to not be an exact match with lore. Rather than a missile slot I want melee implemented. Also I want to change the color scheme of Hero mechs. Sure, it may look like this in lore but my YLW is not *the* Yen-Lo-Wang, so I should be able to customize more of it. Though I would keep the paint style, just different colors.

I bought a YLW when they first became available for MC (=Real Money), and then promptly sold it to free up space in the stable.

I think the Yen-Lo-Wang is fine, and the hardpoints that it has makes it a unique choice to pilot. Like others have said, the lack of hardpoints at ALL in the left torso means that when you run a standard engine, the entire left half of your 'Mech can be used to soak up damage while dealing some death with your autocannon(s). I noticed that because of the removal of the lower arm actuator (to facilitate the standard AC/20) you also have enough space for 2 Ultra AC/5's. Along with two Medium Lasers, I find the Ultra AC/5's have incredible burst potential on any 'Mech with a broad torso (IE. Cataphract, Atlas, Awesome) provided the silly things don't jam. Not only can the damage of the two Ultras be incredible, but there's a psychological factor of all those rounds screaming towards you, making it useful for suppression if needs be. I run an XL 245 engine with mine and I've found that the weapons selection and overall speed (about 87 with speed tweak) makes this guy pretty fearsome against almost any opponent.

Wang is supposed to have a hatchet anyway...
It doesn't have this...
it would be balanced to allow for 1 SRM6 pack at least.

I was going to do a Poll, but realised everyone who does not pilot will probably vote no change.
I feel the Wang should get at least one missle hardpoint (LT) to really be competitive. Remember this thing hero or not has only 2b and 2L pretty weak.

I picked this guy up as soon as it hit. It looks really cool... and is the weakest of the 3 crusaders I own. Anyone that sees that paintscheme auto targets the right arm. BLAM! There goes the majority of your weaponry in one pass. Then you get to run around like a character from a Monty Python skit for the rest of the fight with a coupla flashlights beaming out of your CT.
The only reason I pilot it at all is to get Crusader to master... then it'll be mothballed.
