Ok so I'm in games with my raven and frequently when our team is losing it is coming down to just me. I'm fairly confident in my skill in a raven and have frequently pulled it off.

Today however.. when it comes down to a couple of games where it is just me left.. (after running a very very good Raven game without issue or incident) I suddenly start getting massive server de-sync..(last one in Colony)

I start teleporting places going different directions.. like in this most recent one.. I was last one, versus a stalker.. retreated to go capture base due to heavy damage.. was going through the cave, and then suddenly found myself walking into a wall right before the stalker takes me out.

One before that was in Frozen City.. same thing..

Not a damned problem up until I'm the last one on my team.. I have 30-50ms ping consistently.

Keep in mind... I'm going to start tracking names in games that happens in.. I will narrow down to people.. This is ridiculous. Get some skill.

It could be the memory leak. When I start to see things like this, I restart my client. It could also have been some network point between you and the server. There have been several disturbances in various networks today (I'm a network engineer in case you are wondering where I could have known or come up with that).

I am always very careful to throw the word hacking or cheat around without exhausting other possible explanations first.

I wouldn't be concerned of foul play, except it happens as soon as I'm the last player on my team.

Look to see if it happens with the same opponents in future matches.

I have had similar things happen and I get a similar ping as you. I kinda doubt it's a hack, but you never know I guess.

The only thing I can think of is someone just starting all sorts of downloads and various bandwidth hogs to de-sync themselves and slow down the whole match?

screwing up your connection to the sever and causing some decent amount of packet loss on your end is kinda impossible or another player to do...

I suppose it could be a lag generator of some sort, though it would be extremely difficult to prove. You could use the tab key and see if the opponents Ping has significantly increased....

IF you manage to narrow it down to specific people, report it, and don't @#$%ing post about it. Posting about it will tip them off and they might stop using the trick for long enough to evade detection or something.

It sounds like you just had a de-synch. Probably nothing malicious. That said, nearly anything is "possible" in my opinion, when it comes to hax, but it should never be the first assumption.

"I don't what caused this, so HAX!"

"I don't know what that was, so ALIENS!"

Same leaps of (non) logic.

I've had this happen to me too but I tend to think it's a server issue and not a client issue per say.

I think the game server software have a few issues

I had this happen to me last night, I don't think its a malicious hack, I think its the servers going haywire. I'd jump to like 1400 ping for a couple seconds then be dropped somewhere else on the map and everytime I fired my shots would veer off in crazy directions.

Don't forget... "Bad Weather" is sweeping across NA and has been for a couple days. This means lines going down, cables being cut, networks going to hell as places lose power and battery backups and generators take over.

It's probably a lag spike issue. I wonder if people might be streaming (not likely... not many MWO streamers, it seems like... at least not on twitch) and causing some issues. We all know the netcode is iffy (even if I've not seen it like others have). I'd be willing to do a test as I sometimes stream. I'd just need some direction from the dev team as to how I might record my latency during the match while streaming.

Also, this. There has been some badly damaged infrastructure here in Tennessee. I was affected for a couple days but others are still having issues. I'd expect similar iffy WAN networking over the next week or so (I'm also a network engineer).

Client side you might of ram by a rock but server side it might of had you clipping and getting stuck on a wall.. So it corrected client side and you teleported back to said spot

A "hack" that only applies when there's just one player standing on the enemy team is a very inefficient way to rig fights in your favor...

If you experience behavior that seems like cheating or otherwise illicit, then please send an email to support@mwomercs.com with a full description of the activity in question. Please include names, mechs, maps, time/date, any chat logs, and if possible a screencap of some sort. If you want to report genunie hacking events, such as seeing someone posting on this or an outside forum that they've hacked MW:O or something like that, then send an email to hacks@mwomercs.com. Keep in mind that the Support Staff can handle Hacking reports, too; they just shuttle it to whoever is appropriate. Thanks.

This sounds very familiar to an old bug the game had where atlas's dying caused a de-sync in the game. Something to do with their hit boxes colliding with the world.

It would have been more likely to occur if you were the last surviving mech.
