So let say I put a C.A.S.E unit in my torso. Will it effectively "C.A.S.E" All the ammo on my mech? No matter what area of the mech its in?
Question About C.a.s.e

C.A.S.E. only works in the slot it is installed in, for example LT or RT. Does not cover whole Mech. So you would propably put ammo in an area with C.A.S.E. so the possible ammo cook-off won't spread to adjacent parts of the Mech. If got an XL engine I think the thing is just dead weight as the crits of XL are already in there.

I thought it would be even better to have case in RT/LT of an XL mech to prevent an ammo explosion destroying the entire mech?

If the ammo goes, so does that section of the torso. With an XL engine, that means so does you mech. Thus, CASE is pointless.

From what I understand the C.A.S.E. does not protect the XL engine crits that are "portruding" into LT/RT, damage would still go thru to the engine.

CASE can only be put in the Left and Right Torso sections. And it doesnt really encase your ammo, you don't even have to put your ammo in the same section that you put CASE into..
CASE prevents an ammo (or gauss rifle) explosion from damaging your center torso. If you put your ammo in your arm, or leg, an ammo explosion would destroy the section the ammo is in, then move to the adjacent torso and destroy that, and after that, if you don't have CASE, it would move to your center torso and destroy that as well. CASE keeps you alive if your ammo explodes (as long as you aren't using an XL engine)

Ah I see. Thanks!

Well then, now I know why it is always best to put ammo in the legs. I guess cockpit to cause if you get crit there you dead in the water anyway.
Thanks for the info.
