Hello, This is my first post on the Mech Warrior Online forum. I've signed up ages go so i'm not that new. I'm just worried as i'm so excited and looking forward to this game but i am scared incase I can't run the game as its on the cry engine. I can play most games on my computer ok, Its not a top of the range but can still games. Specs are. Intel Quad Core CPU Q9450 @2.7 ghz And also Radeon 5450 1gb graphics card and also 2gb of ram. Anyone think I could run this on low with no shadows XD. Thanks :P

game req's havent been announced yet and i hate to speculate. however if you can run the other games using the cry engine you prolly have a good chance at running MWO

my guess would be probably at the lowest settings it might run but I dont know whether it would be playable. But with a simple upgrade of your GPU and RAM you should be fine for med settings.

You'll be fine if it's like crysis 2 which runs the same engine, however you won't get any eyecandy. If you can, grab a radeon hd 7770 and you'll do great.

This game was one of the only reasons I upgraded to a Radeon 7900.

Crysis 2 uses the same engine as MWO, Crytek 3. I recommend a trip to the system requirements lab and check your specs vs Crysis 2, that should give a ballpark figure, MWO may need more but shouldn't be that far off. If you don't meet the minimum for Crysis 2, you're going to have a hard time :/

Ok, Here are the results http://tinypic.com/r/qox3pc/6. Well it says I need 3gb of ram. But vista takes up lots of ram to Windows 7 (Using Win7) and also If I use game booster to save some aswell I maybe ok.

New GPU and youll be fine.

AMDs 7xxx series is rather good on value/performance

tomshardware will have details on benchmarks etc if you know what to look for.

Listen to these guys. They know what they are talking about and these upgrades shouldn't flatten your wallet too much unless you're on a shoestring budget.
RAM is almost cheaper than a plate of chocolate now a days.

OP, before you jump on RAM upgrades, it looks like you're using the 32-bit version of Windows 7.

That'll severely limit how much RAM you can make use of. At best, Windows will see 3GB, regardless of how much you put in (because the video card is taking up 1GB worth of address space). You might not even get that much. So a RAM upgrade might not actually change how much memory you can make use of.

What you need is a 64-bit copy of the OS. Don't fret, you shouldn't have to buy a new copy of Windows. I'm 99% certain that a license key is good for either a 32-bit or 64-bit (I assume someone else can confirm?), so just get yourself an install disc for the 64-bit version, reinstall, and you should be good to go. Then you can get a cheap 4GB RAM kit for absolutely nothing and be fine there.

Good question, If you purchase the OEM kit, you get both 32 Bit and 64 Bit CD's and 1 single license key so you can use it on either.
Now will a Licence Key work on a 64 bit CD, if your purchased system was only supplied with 32bit......possibly assuming M$ does not tie single CD keys together in their database (Unlikely).

Failing that you could use the Horrible Windows 8 preview untill its released then suck it up and buy Windows 8 or 7 64 bit.

On Windows Vista, the keys were interchangeable, and on 7 they seem to be as well. Keys seem to entitle you to an edition, and don't seem specific to 32 or 64 bit. So as long as the Home Premium key is being used for a home premium install, it should work. If not, like you say, the OP can use the Windows 8 preview for awhile.

Either way, they'll need to ditch the 32-bit OS, I think.
