Just started playing a few days ago, and have run a few inconveniences and annoyances; some of which have been my own inexperience/stupidity, and others have been just weird interface issues that are already covered in suggestions to the developers and various other posts (i.e. the mechlab ui).
That said, there's one thing that has annoyed me greatly and I can't figure out why it exist you stay in a game until the very end (i.e. you are there until the bitter end, see the scoreboard, read it, and then exit back to the game launcher), when you get back to the launcher your mech still shows as "In Game".
Why?
I can understand it being labelled as "In Game" if you leave the game part-way through, but if you stay until the end I would expect the mech to be available the moment you see the launcher screen again.
What's the delay for? Is it a bug or a known issue (I can't find any sign of the issue in either one of those forums)?
Thanks!

It's there on purpose, originally meant to, as one of the reasons, to prevent death grinding, where you'd start a game, die, get some C-Bills for that match, and instantly afterwards start a next match with that same mech to continue the grind for C-Bills.

You have to get your mech back from the frontline, the mechanics have to fix it (free of charge now), the painters have to touch up the paint, the maid has to clean the cockpit, the farriers have to shoe your mech, the stablehand gives it a rub down...a whole list of things....I'm just glad this whole process only takes about 10 secs max.
And it has always been like that, to a greater or lesser degree.

Ah. I suppose that makes sense, but it's very irritating if you're actually playing the game and not trying to grind anything in particular. Given the removal of R&R, does this even make sense any more? If one wanted to grind in this way, one would just pick the first mech, then the second, then the third, and then the fourth -- and by the time the fourth match was complete; the first mech would be available again.
With R&R I think I can understand the purpose; but it seems utterly meaningless now that R&R is no longer a concern... it's just annoying to sit and stare at the mech until it becomes available again.

Because your mech is lying blown up on the last planet you fought on and has not yet been delivered to your dropship.

Your mech will become available after about a 10 second wait when a match returns to the mechlag screen.

Just when I thought that every aspect of the game has been griped about...

I like the delay. It gives me a little time to see how I did during the battle by reading the list of what I'm getting paid for.

It's related to the last person to actually leave the match. If you stay until the score screen kicks you out, your mech should be ready instantly. Of course, you just delayed everyone else, so...

Ah, OK. That makes sense, as it seems (completely subjectively) to vary a little bit from match to match.
Thanks for the explanation!
