So i know they arent here yet, but ive just been looking for the right crowd of people to ask this question to.
Who appreciates the Nova Cat more than the Mad Cat, or any other Clan Heavy for that matter?

I've always loved the Mad Cat and the Nova Cat, but ive just been gravitating towards the Nova Cat more and more over the years.

Is it just me? or am i crazy? :P

It is going to be a long time before you see a Nova Cat on the field. They came around after Tukayyid.

Edit: Although the Nova Cat is a decent campaign platform due to the pure energy weapon armament. However I cannot help but feel that a modified Timber Wolf could do it better.

You are not crazy my friend. The Nova Cat is awesome!

Though I do not prefer the all energy loadout, though it is nice, I do prefer the Alternate Configuartion B which has six LRM 15s and a pair of ER medium lasers.

cant really look at weapons for omnimechs. The Timber Wolf has better armor and is faster. The Nova Cat has 10 more tones of Pod space.

I would give it a tie between the too. There both great mechs. But in the end it comes down to pilot fighting style. Combat Mobility Vs Weapon flexibility

Both good mechs I agree, but personally I like to alpha and not blow my mech up :)

You my friend are quite insane. The Mad Cat is the best mech ever created.

Both mechs arn't my style. Too much heat, Not enough armor.

I'm not a huge fan of either one. My heavy clan mech of choice probably would be the cauldron born.
The idea of a beefed up omni-bushwacker (my fav' mech) appeals to me.

all of your are wrong if a mad cat, timberwolf, and a nova cat support one another in a harmuness dance they will rape any oppisition on the battle field.

Timber Wolf looks slightly better. Nova Cat has a much better default loadout. But, I haven't seen an AI Timber Wolf overheat, whilst I have seen AI Black Knights and AI Nova Cats overheat and shutdown constantly.

I have always considered 75 tons to be the best weight for a mech, the Timber Wolf, Nova Cat and Night Gyr are probably among the best in the game.

I will say that both designs are fairly closely matched.

The Nova Cat lends itself better to heat sink or crit heavy loadouts. This is good considering that its primary purpose is to be heavy weapons platform. In contrast, the Timberwolf is is more of a heavy cavalry 'Mech. The Nova Cat is five tons lighter, slower and a little less armored but it makes up for it with probably the best tonnage/critical allocation around (it doesn't "waste" heat sinks like the Timberwolf.)

That being said, a star of Nova Cats and/or Timberwolfs is my preferred operational unit.

But I have to say that the Nova Cat looks meaner; (even if it does look like Samus Aran designed it.)

I like energy only weaponaries so I like the Nova Cat, but I always have some problems keeping the heat down when it comes to dealing high damage in short times... so maybe I like the Timber Wolf more, also the Timber Wolf offers some indirect firepower.
I would rather pilot a Summoner or Hellbringer when it comes to heavies
