Yes after 1 1/2 months I can play agian!
Thank You NetCode, Graphics Coding, and the new Nvidia Drivers, your hard work has made me a very Happy Person!
I can say for the first time that I played for 2 hours last night with out having my PC freeze. I played 3 matches, then restarted the client, and played for an hour and half, with no real issues.

Now back to Bitching!

Why are the new Stalkers so small?

ECM (and perhaps some other items; electronics, JJ, larger engine size caps) should be an "Upgrade" for any mech that wants it. We only have so many critical slots, make these mech improvements have an additional critcal (dynamic?) slot cost.

WOW, could you imagine the whine-o-rama if every mech that wanted to could use ECM. Yikes!

Personally I think ECM should only be available to mech variants that have no missile hardpoints. That would certainly stop the commando streak itching.

Compared to the whine-o-rama about requiring two mech variants to be in your team for competitive play, I don't think allowing every mech ECM would be that bad.

Must have missed that thread. I have quite a few matches with zero ECM and while we don't win all the time the threat of ECM has reduced the number of unbalanced builds.
Of course even with 2 or more mechs with ECM I never seem to have that umbrella. Atlas move way too slow and the lights never stick around.

Ya im not sure what they will do about ECM, but something definitly needs to be done. I do like the idea of it being a costly (meaning it will take up alot of dynamic slots) upgrade. Because not everyone will have the extra dynamic slots(10?) to make use of it. I think if opened the door on all these items, but limited the players by only allowing you to fit only so much in a mech. We could have a much more balanced experiece.

I just find it strange that certian mechs can have this or that, such as having a higher engine capacity, but theres no in game mechanic/cost for having these.
Why should one cataphract be albe to go faster or have JJ and others not? How come Jenners can fit larger engines than Ravens. How in game mechanics is this possible? Where is the cost/tech for these perks? There really needs to a rational behind these posibilities, and not just an unseen magicial new technology or because thats the way it is.

What we have right now is closer in effect to angel ECM than guardian ECM...

Change the lock-on block to lock on timer increase?

Even Angel ECM is supposed to allow for dumbfiring of what would otherwise be lock-on weaponry.

Actually the angel only blocked lock on systems when you within their bubble. It did not hide them from sensors, nor negate locks unless you were in the bubble. What we have now is a guardian ECM with a null signature system built in. This makes it extremely powerful as the Null sig gets placed on any team mate in their bubble. It's a huge benefit for such a small cost in weight and cbills.

Yeah, I have to say I was a little surprised by the cloaking properties. Really don't mind it much as it has limited usefulness but then I don't run with ECM as I usually stick with a heavy mech so I rarely get to take advantage of it.
Can't wait for the spider, then at least I can keep up with the lights that have ECM.
