Guess its pretty old school but did anyone play the old battletech mux full on clan roleplay and the associated battle servers.
ascii maps ftw and loved the way you diappeared of the long range map if you submerged.
can only remember a few commands like firetic and lrs but was fun to crunch the math and try to com up with the best combination of speed and firepower. There was a heavy mech with no armour to speak of, massive engine and 11 medium lasers that used to rush strafe,

I was on '56, Luthien and quite a few of those as Michael Costanza (CHF Academy), Moro Hanamura/Jim Pitt (DC) and Lance Travis/Sean Gervase (Luthien I believe).
