I don't know if it's a hack, horrific bad luck or something enabled in this patch.
I just had the oddest experience. I was playing a game and I got into a duel with a Catapult early one. I literally never engaged another Mech, just me one on one with this Catapult in my Cataphract. I emptied my Ultra AC5's 72 shots into this mech ( or the surrounding terrain.... ), and raked it time and time again with Large and Medium lasers.
I swore the damned 'cat should have been dead two or three times over, but it just kept going. In fact, I didn't even score a component damage reward.
Again, this is literally the only enemy I fired upon until I was killed by an LRM strike, and I would have written it off as bad luck, laggy netcode code, me not being as accurate as I thought or something else... then I saw the game summary screen.
712 damage. 0 kills 0 assists.
OK... somethings up... I WAS doing the damage I though, and unless I dont get the math behind this game, 712 damage should have blown up every single piece of the Cat, so even if I was horrifically unaccurate, it should have been dead after suffering that much damage.
So, I don't know if its a bug, an exploit or something else, but something certainly went wrong in that match. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep, a Cat has max 422 armor and 217 structure (639 total). But the damage counter being somewhat random is not new, and neither is damage not registering due to netcode or other reason. So my guess is it's a combination of those two issues.
In particular the lag part seems to be extreme after the patch, the damage display wasn't updating in pretty much every game I played and movement was jerky with enemy lights warping even more that usual. Typically gets better a while after a patch, presumably because less players will be playing then, easing the load on the server which seems to have trouble coping.

I'm currently running in a Raven 3L (ECM Bubble) and I've run into several invincible mechs. Almost always a 2D commando... at least that's what I'm normally hunting.
I have emptied ~140 SSRM into a commando, and not seen any damage show on the mech. However, I also show a score of "0" damage on the review screen. Please note, I'm also racking these mechs with my LPL, so SOME damage should show on the end of match screen even if my missile damage is not recording properly.
Just wanted to add my voice to the invulnerable mech thread.

I have run into this problem as well with the Catapults... but it doesn't seem to affect me when I'm in my 2D Commando.... just saying, fight fire with fire I guess

Glad to see I'm not alone. Wonder if it is an exploit? If it was netcode, I don't think you would get credited for the damage at the end of the fight.
