With the Orion, we have 19. 20 will be an assault (most likely the Banshee to cover the 95 ton bracket).

So, assuming the Banshee, we have the following:

Lights - All tonnages covered (35 twice)

Mediums - All except 55 covered (50 three times)

Heavies - All tonnages covered (65 twice)

Assault - All tonnages covered (assuming the Banshee).

Which times it rather well for the Clans arrival.

While we all have favourite mechs, these will likely come through in time.

What is missing is really just a fast, jumping (6/9/6) medium. and a 55 tonner (due to the loss of the trio and the Scorpion).

So, it all ties in for a Summer release of the Clans (assuming they're working on clan designs in parallel).

Unfortunately, a lot of the good jumping mechs are Unseen (Wasp, Stinger, Phoenix Hawk, Shadow Hawk, etc etc.) as are the most common running mechs which next to the Jenner are the Locusts. Really doubt they are going to break silence on these so likely will be another obscure mech. Hopefully a medium mech since medium mechs need some love.

I also think we will get another assault and then on to the Clans (unless they slip an Urbie in there first...) I'm sure they have been working on the Clan mechs in parallel, most of the game is probably being made that way, but I have been wondering if they will do something exciting with the release. Drip feeding the Clans out one mech at a time will drive some people crazy, particularly because the most iconic of them are all heavies and are unlikely to be released one after the other.

Perhaps they will release four at once, one of each class, or maybe two at a time? Everything depends on what their plans are for the Clan invasion of course. That's the info we really need leaked. :P

The next Assault is going to be the Zeus. Banshee only has one variant that anybody would care to fly (Banshee-S) all of the other original variants for it were unacceptably weak for an assault mech....the only assault that was more useless from 3025 was the Charger.

For lights we have Spider and Flea to look forward to, for mediums Blackjack and Trebuchet are on the way.

I'd laugh.

Holy **** that would be so deliciously rage inducing that I would give PGI $20 to do that. Seriously, I'd cough up the dosh for it in a heartbeat.

Look, I don't normally like to speak ill of the Clans awesome mechs, but the Urbanmech IIC is a pale imitation of the original. It's basically the girly version.

Actually, there are 2 variants that are not half bad:

BNC-3S - The 3S looks to turn the Banshee into a typical assault 'Mech. The 'Mech's speed has been reduced to 54 km/h, which frees up a great deal of room for weapons. The 'Mech is armed with two PPCs for long range, with an Autocannon/10 to engage an enemy at intermediate ranges. Finally, for short range combat, the 'Mech has four Medium Lasers and an SRM-6 launcher. Two Small Lasers round out the weapons payload. BV (1.0) = 1,323[13], BV (2.0) = 1,751[14] And I am OK with the basic Banshee being crappy. We change all the loadouts on our mechs anyway, and I would really like to see a "fast" 95 tonner. As long as the Banshee 3E had more hardpoints that it mounts weapons it can be an effective mech.

After the 20 will be the 21st and the Mayans will return to kill us all!!!

:P

Seriously, in the Ask the Devs Garth had stated that after Open Beta went to release they were hoping to push two mech out a month. I'd guess that eventually this will mean one Inner sphere and one Clan mech per month.

Banshee bet on it...

I'm still guess that the 21-24 mechs will be Innersphere Mech, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were also at this point a second line of Mech Announcements for Clan Mechs. Garth had mention work on the Urban Mech, which is why I'm guessing it for the 21st Announcement, as mentioned we're still missing a 55 tonner and since the Shadow Hawk, Griffin and Wolverine all seem unlikely, my guess for that has been the Dervish. Seeing the limitations in Heavies that aren't Unseen the best guess here is the Guillotine. Assaults still have a good selection to work with and the Zeus has been highly anticipated...

Only problem with the Dervish (which I love btw), is the same issue that plagues the Kintaro. Lack of variants in the timeline, and the fact the Trebuchet fills the missile/energy slot very nicely.

I guess we'll nee to be content with our 50s.Unless they want to advance the Lynx (since all the tech for the variants is there). It is Lostech, so they could put it in play. Only issue is one variant is simply a standard LL to ER LL variant.

Assuming they update the page regularly, the other mechs on the way are the spider, Jagermech, Highlander, and the trebuchet according to the list of battlemechs here.

Yeah, I'm talking announcements. They just announced 19 (Orion). Announcement 20 will be an assault, with my bets on the Banshee.

We all know what is coming (although order can be swapped, like the Spider and the Trebuchet).
