Hi all,

Let me explain quickly this situation properly as to try avoid all the bum fluff people seem to think about what i saw/reported.

2 days ago, Playing a game on frozen city i darted threw the cave with a couple of us (I will not name them without there permission) and for all our trying we were killed. No myther, It happens.

It ended up being a VERY CLOSE game leaveing just 2v2 players on each team. 3 of us PERSONALLY WATCHED A PLAYER (DrD..) who was on OUR team using a aimbot because WE GET TO SEE THERE SCREEN WHEN DEAD! When someone has yellow screen of death, YOU SEE IT WHEN YOU DIE AND LOOK FROM THERE MECH, So you see what they see! This is not me crying 'He killed me with Aimbot', He was on my team for gods sake, We won cause of him (he was last one alive suprise suprise!).

What we saw was him holding back and never actually getting near to a fight and his cursor JUMPING 1-3 centimeters NOT IN THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN BUT AROUND THE CENTER OF THE SCREEN! He had no 4FPS bug, No FPS spikes as his ping was wel below 100 and WHAT HAPPENED WAS CONSTANT! Fps spikes would not do this. BASICALLY IT WAS SO OBVIOUS ITS UNTRUE! I RECCOMEND YOU LOOK OUT FOR THIS ON YOUR TEAM!

So i reported him and at least one other. i just got a reply...... here it is.....

WHAT THE **** PGI! What 'stats' are you looking at cause YOUR FLAT OUT WRONG. THis guy was caught RED HANDED! Plain and simple and PGI do nothing. Just as i expected.
And to those that think aimbots dont exist, READ IT IN THERE MESSAGE BACK TO ME, ill quote it for you nieve people...

So there, although a search isnt really hard to find these things which baffles me!
Im good with tech and computers and understand these types of 'mods' and 'software' and people just dont have much tech knowledge at all these days. Dumbed down by powers that be and lack of actual tech sites that are not payed off to print drivel makes it really hard for average joe. Hell, Even semiaccurate as gone subscription cause of plagerisium! Its sad

THe guy was SEEN USING BOTS BY MY WHOLE TEAM! 2 others of which i rolled with. There IS NO DOUBT IN THIS AT ALL, not even 1%, They do exist although some people think they know better (and show how clueless they really are). I'm from this industry, clandestine you may say, so i know!

PGI HAVE NO EFFECTIVE MEASURES TO STOP IT!
thats what this PROVES! Nothing else, So if you want to use such things go ahead people, YOU WILL NOT GET BANNED!

I watched him for about 3 minutes, IVE WRITTEN SUCH PROGRAMS IN THE PAST (although over a decade ago now nearly) and i can spot these things a mile away. YOU CAN IF YOU SAW IT! It's a very small problem right now, But if this is there ways of dealing with it, It will be Aimbot Online before you know it. And its still beta lol. Think that might be a first :-)

I know alot of preople are reporting i died so easy, hes using aimbot, But i aint doing that. I watched him USE IT! and win the game, USING IT! I dont have to prove this to anyone as i know.

This will be a HUGE issue if PGI dont sort there act out. I wrote back explaining my points to them and even told them look into something a bit better. We'll see!

HEAR MY WARNINGS MECHWARRIORS! There crude right now and easy to spot people on your team using them. ALthough PGI dont seem to be able pick up the unusual goings on on there own servers! I dont know which is worse, The cheats or PGI :/

I watch through other people's eyes all the time and see the view jump around and his targets jump around and him getting the red dot for hitting when what I see is he missed by miles... it's not just dependent on his ping but on yours as well... plus, the server prioritises active players, so what you are seeing is low priority comms from the server... it is server lag

if he was using an aimbot then his stats would be much higher for kills etc. and it would stand out

HVHP. One of my teammates turned in a fellow for using AimBot. His response was Thanks, He was cheating, we have banned him from the game. Thank you.

Not gonna comment on the rest, but you don't see what they see.

I've had many a team mate on TS with a yellow-screen and when I spec them I don't see it - Similarly, I've had yellowscreens and when I spec someone else, I still have the yellowscreen.

Additionally, if you hide your HUD, and someone else specs you, they still see their HUD.

Finally, I've specced people and seen them miss, repeatedly.
When I later watch the same shots, recorded by that player using Fraps, I can see that they were hitting on thier screen, meaning that my view of their cockpit was affected by my own latency.


So no, you in no way always see what they see.
Tbh your description isn't very clear to me, so I won't stand here & say you're right or wrong, I just don't know (and I know such bots can & do exist), but the thing about always seeing the other player's view as he sees it is just wrong.

How exactly did you report him? As in, did you fraps it and give them the video link? Because reporting a hacker is this easy:

"Hesketh Vernon Hesketh Prichard used aimbot today in a game. Pls ban him. I'm 100% sure."

You would be pretty mad to get banned from this, wouldn't you? I gave no evidence what so ever than my word, which on the internet doesn't count for anything.

PGI response to your report is correct and professional. They probably checked the his average accuracy statistics and noticed it was at normal levels (ie not 100% which would be a dead give away of constant aimbot using). They obviously have no way of detecting the use of third party programs so that is a short coming for PGI, congrats you caught them on that one. Still, you are overreacting massively. Your PGI bash is unjustified here.

Except no, I've had teammates report my screen is yellow plenty of times when I was fine.

Possibly, yes. However, a cheater trying to not get caught would certainly be mindful of this, and try to mitigate it's obviousness.

The "blatant" cheaters are usually either 1. kids or 2. griefers.

All said and done, no one should be banning people off of "hunches" anymore. This isn't 1998 and we're not playing Rainbow Six.

For instance, ESEA (a premium league for Counter-Strike) will not ban off demo-review alone, no matter how blatant it is. They must be caught with the ESEA anti-cheat client (which is superb)

So let me see if I can feed the troll a little here...

1. You are angry because you screamed "OMGWTFHAX0RZ!!" and PGI gave you a canned response.
2. Your outrage stems from your years of first hand experience with writing hacking and cheating programs so that makes you good at spotting when they are in use.
3. You now feel that we should all cheat so that we are not left in the dust as PGI does not care at all.

Screaming to the forums will not help anything. If you feel that strongly you should re-open your ticket. Telling people to hack tends to be about as good of an idea as robbing a Gun Store with a banana. Calling yourself out as a "hacker" is wearing a deer costume during above hypothetical robbery.

Anyone else feel like driving a Mack Truck through this argument?

Worse, people will fall victim to malicious claims.

Without proof, nobody should be punished for claims of cheating or anything else.

This is absolutely true. I have many, many times had the yellow screen bug appear in other people's cockpit even though they themselves cannot see it.

When my wife and i die in a match and are spectating the same mech we often see different things.
Yellow screen for one of us, different ammo amounts on the mech we're watching, etc.
Often one pc will show the player getting direct hits on the enemy while the other pc will show the player firing to the sides of the target

Get MSI afterburner and record your session as evidence, that will lend much more strength to your claim.

Customer Support Representatives (CSRs) have to use the tools at their disposal to judge these cases (which are improving with every release). You may well be correct that you saw an aimbot, but we can't just go around banning users because someone on the forums thinks they are cheating. You did the right thing you reported him so CSRs can track their account and look for activity worthy of a suspension.

As mentioned with each release their ability gets better so it's only a matter of time, as has been stated many times we care about all forms of cheating and have a zero tolerance policy to it. Asking other users to use cheats on the forums is only going to help get you your own warning though and get their accounts suspended as well.
