No comment - but if I ever start a religion this will be one of the rules in the holy scripture.

Thou shalt not lie on the internets

And the scary thing is ,they're going to buff PPC/ERPPC

Post-buff, and with the right pilot, this'll be a nightmare.

I nominate Grobeck, he has a few similar monstrosities he has unleashed to great effect.

On another note, re: not effective in competition

People need to let it go sometimes. This may not be a tactically versatile nor strategically sound allocation of resources, but I definitely see the beer & pretzels fun factor of this build. It's silly and entertaining, which can lead to fun. Imagine fun, in a game you are playing.

Keep in mind its just a fun build for the lulz. It's fun to fire the wave motion gun and watch the Argo shutdown.

Oh hell yes. Point him at the Gamalons.

I tried the 6PPC Stalker ...I was amazed that I can fire an alpha without overheating on caustic....

Finally I have to summarize that it is great fun. Mechs with 60points left to the CT mostly feel invulnerable.
So I call my baby the Atlas sniper. Opposed to some oppinions of other posters (who I think did not try it)
The porblem are not light mechs (which you can 1 shot kill) The problem is an enemy team charging in
as a group. They will own you becaus your rate of fire is just crap. But in a stallmate situation
where people fire over a ridge or around the crater you get out of cover -zoom 60dmg- and back to cover.
It is crazy!

Also it is just barely enough to core the CT of a flawless Cicada (I guess all Cicada players should reallocate 1 or 2 points from BT to CT)
So I had this CDA peak over the ridge in ice city and booom good-bye

Edit:
I also love to use the 4 PPC in the arms in chainfire mode to finish off mechs.
They fire in a very fast succession like an energy MG.

I gotta say, since the update I've finally gotten the performance out of PPCs that I've always wanted.
PPC Stalker
PPC Cataphract
PPC Dragon bombed (Flame had arm convergence issues)
next up: Catapult C1 and Hunchbacks

Hey Vdek, I think I ran into you yesterday on River City? You were on the enemy team and there was a second 6xPPC Stalker on your team too. I was playing a 4xPPC Stalker myself.

6 PPC version? Faced it and wrecked it. It's useless within 90m.

The ER version is trickier, but also runs WAAAAAAAY hotter.

Heh.

I think it's a highly specialized build. You can use it to quickly disable or destroy opponents' bigger, slower mechs early in the fight, which gives your team a nice advantage.

Using 6xLL would lower the damage to 54 and spread the damage somewhat (it's hard to keep pointing at a single section the whole beam duration), so it'd be a lot less effective at that particular task. However, I think it'd be much more reliable against fast mechs, and it'd allow you to defend yourself under 90m.

Having a dedicated 6xPPC player in a group sounds like a pretty decent idea. In PuGs though, I'd say it's a bit risky and I think I'd rather go with the LLs...

Well, it's all theory to me anyway. Don't have a Stalker and don't plan on ever getting one.

Doesn't matter, everything still dies.

I don't worry about lights, I kill them with one-two shots before they get in range. Besides that I stay close to my team for their support.

Only reason its working.

A lot of goofy builds work team mates.

Well, I don't want to hear any more complaining about Gausscats. They are pretty lightly armed compared to some of the stalker and Cataphract builds I've seen over the last few weeks.

I will admit that I'm interested in giving this config a try just for the fun of it. Thanks for sharing.

I have always loved the 4 PPC Atlas-RS for the all out fun factor. With the recent speed buff and the upcoming heat buff, I am just counting the days until I can get back and purchase the Stalker F to try this out.

While certainly a specialized build that would be better suited to having a wingman watching out for you, I can see this being devastating for anyone that has a steady hand and reliable aim. Setting up for chain fire with particular weapons groups would also make it a bit more sustainable in certain situations.

Its fun but there's that problem of the 90m min range. Frankly I run a 4ppc, 4ssrm, 1 TAG version and it works wonders.... because the missing 20 damage from the 2 ppcs is 'returned' via the 4 SSRMs which consume far less heat and crit slots and is more efficient in tonnage (4 SSRM+2 ammo = 8 tons). The remaining 6 tons (from 14 tons original 2 ppc to 4ssrm+2ammo) are spent in 2 AMS+2 ammo and 2 more heatsinks.

Its also amazingly heat efficient since the 4 ssrm's consume far less power than 2 ppcs.

Kit Stalker 4S

4 PPC
4 SSRM x 2 tons ammo
2 AMS x 2 tons ammo
XL 255 Engine (
1 TAG
1 Medium Laser
16 Double Heatsinks.
Full armor.

Heat efficiency: .85

Fires two alphas (4ppc+4ssrm+1med laser) before hitting 98% heat. 65dmg total.
Can fire almost 10 PPC rounds with chain fire before heat hits near shutdown.

Ive not elited the stalkers yet so the heat performance should go up a notch once I do thanks to double bonus.

I enjoying coming across builds like these. I know it's difficult for the pilot and I have to play spcial to counter them. It's fun.

In TT, 3 PPCs would be the equivalent of this in Alpha strike capability when you consider the double armor values.

Wrecking Light Mechs in One shot, here's a few in one game :(
