Ecm Mode Suggestion

So I have played my share of games with and against ECM. What really bugs me about it is the lack of a hard counter. If I have streak, or LRM, I can't lock on at all, period. I was told to use a TAG laser. I did so, and still nothing. Don't know if that is simply a bug or not, but whatever, moving on and accepting it as by design.

What really hit me though is just how powerful ECM really is, and it has a handy mode switching option. What I feel ECM should break down into is 3 modes:

Offensive
Disables enemy radar, and blocks their OUTBOUND targeting information

Defensive
Disables enemy targeting software preventing a lock from being established.

Counter
Counters any enemy ECM in an offensive or defensive state.

Really the same ECM we all know and have atm, just splitting it's properties up a little bit. Forces you to choose between going unseen and actually preventing LRM and SSRM attacks. Require communication and teamwork to have both at the same time.

Another interesting suggestion:

PPC's are supposed to wreak electrical havoc, right? Why not have a PPC disable ECM 'Mechs for 4-5 seconds while the system recovers?

ECM has to be countered by an ECM set to counter rather than disrupt - tong don't work. They are a major pain on the battlefield due to sides not being balanced. Every match I been in for the last 5 had people say they are leaving the game because of them. Reason? The matchmaking. Facing 6 ECM's with none on yourside isnt fun. Also the few on your side with them if you are lucky and get any, don't know how to change mode more often or not.

Result is unbalanced game, They balance in wieght but not ecm's. Would be nice in the next patch!

No 1.5 ton system should be so overpowered to need match making consideration.

Counter games are bad, we should just have a good piece of EW equipment that is balanced for its tonnage and slots, or give it a disadvantage.

Also, to anyone to suggests that PPC should disrupt ECM, that it fine, but if it does, it really needs a little AOE (EMP effect only, no damage) where it hits for that, and/or needs to last a long time (like 30seconds or more), its not easy to hit lights with PPCs right now, putting it in without AOE and with a long time, I still doubt you'd see very many.
