I switch between this build and using 2xLlaser, AC10, and 3xSRM6+artemis. It runs hot, but it's vicious. The artemis means I don't have to be right up in their face to deal concentrated damage. Before artemis I tried the lbx10 shotgun build, and found it to be a bit lacking at anything outside of 100m.

I suck at hitting lights with my AC, but I'm getting decent at lining up SRM6 volleys and large lasers.

Please DONT use this build, Atlas Pilots that use UAC5 are totally useless. An Assault Mech's Job is to kill the other Assault 'Mechs, this build does NOT do this due to the jams on the UAC5.

Their is basically ONE viable DDC build, use it !

Ho ho ho this is so wrong I will take on any Assault with an Atlas with dual U/AC 5s and rip them a new orifice where their CT used to be. My measly record with a similar build is is 1054 damage and 6 kills and 2 assists

The Stalker with proper heat management is more of an Assault killer, much more weapons than an Atlas could wish for.

I built your Atlas built in mechlab and its 106tons ! so you didnt build that built did you ? :S
Only way to achieve this is using XL engine or dropping down the standard engine to 280 or 300

one of the great benefits to having a ELO ranking system is that we will be able to say things like GET TO XXXX BEFORE YOU TALK NOOB when arguing on the forums

as far as the build goes my 2 cents is that its fine for DPS but in my mind the atlas is there to soak up damage as well, which streaks and low caliber AC/s are bad for because it locks you into a direction

did you remove the command console from the head? you can also strip a bit of armor.

this atlas should do reasonably well agianst most targets. streaks for things that go fast, ultras for things that dont, 2 medium lasers to poke with.

the bad thing about it is you have to face your targets all the time to deal damage, should do ok if you're not leading the charge.

Yes I did remove command console , and still we need like 6 tons to make it work , If you want to test it out you can try java mechlab in Ohmwreker 's page

You didn't use Endo then. Again, those saying this is a terrible build, there's a good chance that I've obliterated you and your team with it.

Thanks for the OP for sharing this build which though OK on paper I found to be rather lacking in practice. The main problem being the tendency of the UACs to jam at the worst possible times. Since I dont enjoy gambling and throwing dice I decided to build a varant of this build that I feel is more rounded out and much more reliable:

Ok here is a variant of this build that I will call "The Persecutor MK2" as a slight nod to the OP:

2xLLAS
3xSSRM2 3tons ammo
1xAC20 5 tons ammo
Std300 engine (a bigger engine might be possible if I used Endo steel but Im not sure I have the criticals)
ECM
DHS (as many as you can fit in there)
NO Endo

Basically Ive traded the 2xUAC5s for one 1xAC20. This will give you more alpha power for a tradeoff in DPS, but the DPS is only lower on paper as the AC20 will never jam. The LLAS and Streaks will make quick work of any lights that stray in your way, and when you add the hardhitting AC20 into the mix you will become the bane of heavy & assault mechs as well.

So far the only drawback Ive experienced with this mech is the lack of speed, but maybe with Endosteel I could fit in a larger engine, will have to experiment in the mechlab a bit with that setup...
