1/10 actually. He's like a broken record. No new material.

I've been grinding my Commando 1B lately (to unlock master on my 2D), and I think that OP might have a good idea here. Every time I join a match I feel like I'm handicapping my team. More than likely they will have a Raven or Commando with ECM and streaks. So my team is down 1 potential ECM, and essentially down 1 light hunter/harasser. I will be targeted right away as an easy kill, I'll do a little damage with lasers before I'm cored, but not enough. I've tried bringing TAG, but it's too hard to keep on target usually, plus does nothing to help against streaks.

The thing is that pre ECM I loved my 3A, and didn't mind the 1B or 1D. Now I feel bad for bringing them.

If they make ECM jam at least your own streaks (if not everyone in the bubble), then it will be an actual choice for pilots, and may even bring back a little variety. Right now the Raven-3L and Commando-2D have a HUGE advantage over every other light mech.

simplest solution is turn takedowns back on and run over them and shoot them again

A third approach that might be helpful is to allow our streaks to at least dumbfire under ECM. yes you'd miss more, but you'd at least have an SRM2-equivalent for when the other mech runs into a building or into your front.

Hey PGI... How were the sales for the Death's Knell... I bet sales sucked. Who would want to buy a non-ECM light mech... You might as well just drive it off a cliff with the state of the game in that tier now. Solo pugging in a light mech nowadays is suicide.

You barely ever see Jenner's anymore and the few non-ECM Commando's and Raven's are only out there to elite the 2D's and the 3L's. I know every time I see the roster when there's 4 lights on my team, the odds are good that the other team has a premade group of RVN-3L's that are about to rofl stomp my entire team.

I have to agree with the OP, there needs to be a penalty to equipping ECM. I'm on board with the idea that ECM equipped mechs should suffer from their own ECM and therefore not be able to fire Streaks or even target mechs in their bubble... and I have all the ECM capable mechs. This would force them to using dumbfire SRM's, no more circle strafing, fire and forget BS. This would help to level the playing field for the other lights.

Or maybe create an ECCM mod. Something for the bigger mechs to equip so their sensors can cut through the ECM, lock the little buggers, and fire their own streaks at them.
