If you die from ammo explosion on your mech you don't get xp/cbills for the match it looks like sytem equals that to suiciding your self.

Ammo explosion because someone blasted you? Or ammo explosion because you overheated and override security?
In the second case, this isn't surprising as many exploiters were using that feature to suicide as the start of a match and farm money.

Overheat death is a suicide move. Ammo exploding from hostile (or friendly) fire is counted as damage dealt by that player, awarding that player the kill.
